Catalina - wdyt?
My Grandmother grew up on the archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina in the Caribbean, I've always thought Catalina would be a cool way to honor her though I'm not sure if I like it enough to use it. Still I'm curious wdyt of Catalina? Is it a name you would use or be excited to see on someone?

I love Catalina. It is one of my favorite Cat / Kat names. To be exact it is either my favorite or my second favorite. I think that would be a beautiful way to honor your grandmother. I would love to see more Catalina's. I love the nn potentials as well. Cat, Cate, Catie, and Lina.

I like it! I wonder why...I was named after a military plane my grandfather flew in WWII, but also because my parents thought it was a elegant yet spunky name that would stay classic in both Iberian languages and English. If you also have a good reason for using it, go ahead! I think namesakes makes them more meaningful, and often give a sense of heritage.I probably wouldn't like it on someone else, just because I'm sort of protective of it. Like, "it's my name, find your own". That being said, if it wasn't my name, I would be happy to see it. My god-daughter is Skye Catalina last-name, and I love it on her.

I can't help but think of the salad dressing, though I do love the way its connected to your Grandmother. Perhaps I would get less of a salad dressing feel if it were a middle name.

It's alright. I like it for other people's children, pets, rocks, what have you. I wouldn't use it personally.Although Catalina dressing also comes to mind. Although not immediately, or with much "uumph" either.

Love it love it love itI have a really good friend with the name and she's an amazing person and it just makes the name all that more beautiful. She went by Catalina most of her childhood, started going by Cat in high school, I like both. I tend to call her Catalina because it's just a nice name to say.

I really like it, especially since it's honoring in a way. I tend to like most names that are similar to Catherine/ Katherine (Caitria, Catherina, etc.) and Catalina has the same feel. The honoring aspect aside, I do prefer Caterina / Katerina (or, I suppose, Catarina).

I'd love to meet someone named Catalina! So refreshing. I've never known a soul with the name. The nns Cat or Cata would be very cool too.

I knew a Catalina. Her nickname was Cat. She was very artsy and fun and spunky, which gave me a good view on the name. I like it, and it'd be cool to see a little Catalina!
