If you have only lived in Washington for a year then it's not surprising that you haven't heard of Baker yet since there are a ton of mountains here. The four most known mountains in Washington are Rainier, St. Helens, Baker, and Adams. The big ranges are the Cascades and the Olympics. Baker is apart of the Cascades, the most northwestern Washington part of the Cascades. It is basically exactly east of Bellingham. During the summer or early fall you should really drive the Northern Cascades Highway 20. The mountains are so beautiful and so is lake Ross. I haven't visited Baker since I was a small child but I hear that the road up there is really beautiful as well. Until just a few years ago I hadn't spent much time in the Cascades for like 10 years and had spent most of my summers in and near the Olympics. But the last 3 or 4 years we've been spending a bit of time around the Cascades. Both ranges are so gorgeous.

I see that you are originally from Germany so you are probably use to beautiful mountains. I'd love to visit the mountains in Germany and the surrounding countries. I'd also love to go to see the mountains in Alaska and the Himalayas. I've seen some other beautiful mountains in the US and Canada, but there are some I'd like to see or see again.

When my partners mother asked us the other day which was more beautiful, the ocean or the mountains, we both said mountains and she said ocean. Though when it comes to which I would choose if I could only choose one I said the ocean. I love the beauty of the ocean but it isn't quite as beautiful as the mountains but I just love the whole experience of the ocean more. The tidepools, the sound and smell, and the feeling of the salty air blowing through your hair and gently embracing your flesh. But fortunately you can have both, that's a major part of why I love Washington.
