Lindsey is my name and I absolutely hate it. I don't feel like it's special at all. I knew plenty of them growing up and none of them were particularly nice people.
That's partially the reason I go by
Indy. (It's hiding in there: L

y.)
Also, I think you may be right about it not being okay to try to renew it yet. It will just be like the
Peggy and
Linda that I know who are my age. In a class of Megans and Courtneys and Jessicas and Heathers,
Peggy and
Linda felt like names for your mom's friends. They weren't young enough to fit in or old enough to be "vintage" and cool again.
If you really love it that much, make it a middle name.
But personally, I think the only way this could be refreshing these days would be to put it back on a boy again.
