I forgot that that you can also pronounce Carolina as ker-uh-LEEN-ah. I much prefer that pronunciation to ker-uh-LIEN-ah, because it doesn't remind me as much of the state. I don't dislike the state, I just really dislike place names. I think in the UK people are less likely to just assume Carolina is pronounced like the state.
Someone else suggested Carolyn. I forgot about Carolyn. I like Carolyn, I use to dislike the name when I was younger but I grew to appreciate it.
