Ooooo I SO love Romy! Unfortunately my prospective LN starts "Reim" :( :( :(I'd use Romy on its own but I also like Rosemary. I use to like Romilly but it's too 'grumbly' and 'swollen' sounding to me now. Ramona is ok but Rimona intrigues me more for its meaning. There's also Roma

I love Romilly and Rosemary, and like Romola and Ramona. The rest I don't care for much.

I'm used to Romy being a traditional nn for Rosemary / Rosemarie. So that's my go-to choice. But I'm also loving it as a nn for Romola, which I pronounce with a short "o" at the beginning. But that wouldn't stop me from using Romy with a long "o" as a nn for it.Ramona works well too. :-)

Rosemary /ie fits best imo; for me, Romy needs something starting with a RO sound, and I'd pronounce both Romola and Romilly starting with ROM (to rhyme with Tom).

Rosemary followed by Rosemarie - I slightly prefer Rosemarie (reruns of the Dick Van Dyke Show!) but Rosemary fits Romy better.
I knew an elderly lady from Vienna called Roma but I suppose this is not a contender.

Romy as a nn for Rosamund / Rosamond is inspired. Wonderful suggestion.

I like Romy. I think it's nice as a nickname for Romilly. I don't really like the other names. Rosemary is probably my least favourite.
