I think Guy a handsome name and not equivalent to naming a daughter "Gal", as it has a nice history of use as a name. I like the long "i" sound; the "ee" pronunciation doesn't draw me. I knew and a Guy who was a contractor/builder. He had a cowboy quality about him and kept and rode horses, was very handy, self-sufficient, while his speech and manner were quite refined; very intelligent, thoughtful and considered, wry wit. He loved music, art, antiques. I liked the name prior to knowing him, but he definitely increased my appreciation of it.
