Re: Essie Caroline Blaze
What's up with the hard-on people have for Blaze? I've seen it in BA's for boys AND girls, and I really don't get it. It came out of nowhere, and it's SO CORNY.

Eh, I didn't even know it's a thing. But I agree. It's so awful. I'm glad it's a mn and I can pretend it doesn't exist, and if Essie grows up and wants to be Essie Caroline rather than Essie Caroline Blaze, she can just chop that bit of her name out - little fuss. It's still gross, though.

I went to school with a boy named Blaise who was two years younger than me and he had a sister named Iris who was a year or two older than me. We all would hang out in the science room at lunch because we were all geeks. People would be playing computer games, or playing Magic the Gathering, or having games of DnD.I actually like the name Blaze / Blaise / Blaize for a boy, it's okay on a girl but either way is not my style. I always picture a Blaze having a sister named Ember. :P though Ember is more my style than Blaze.

The name just gives off a desperate vibe to me: "Okay, fire is really cool, right? So we should totally name our kid BLAZE ! Because our kid will be wild and hard to control, but also like, bright and beautiful, JUST LIKE FIRE! No one has ever thought of that, man! We're so different!" *pat on the back*
