Re: This or That and Why?
Boys:
Alexander Caspian. Alexander Cassius is good too, but I'm more fond of Caspian. Alexander Declan seems too "hard" for me as a combo (at least compared to the other two).
Alexander Xander. I don't like Alec at all. Alex is good too IMO, although it might be too common. Alec just sounds like the name of a bully. (I've never met a bully named Alec, but that's how I associate the name).
Alfred: I'm not sure on this one. They all sound very British :P I think I like Miles least, and I don't really like the sound of Hugh, so I'll go with Alfred Cecil "Alfie".
Arthur Percival, hands down! King Arthur and Sir Percival. (I think that's good and not cheesy. Others may disagree). Arthur Crispin is my second choice. I don't like Bradley at all.
Callum Rhys, probably because it sounds most Welsh or something. I like the look of Rhys more than the sound though. Next I'd say Callum David, then Callum Alexander.
Ezekiel Allan is a little singsongy because of the L's. Peleg reminds me of "peg leg" for some reason :P Ezekiel David "Zeke" is probably my choice, because Ezekiel is long and complicated while David is well-known and shorter.
Robinson Douglas "Robin". Robinson Neil is good but it had that double N thing that makes the combo harder to say. And I don't like Amos.Girls:
I like Elaine best out of the middle names, but I'm not sure how well it goes with Bethany. If it were Betony I'd definitely pick Elaine, but Bethany has a more modern association to me. Bethany Hope is more 'cohesive' IMO. I'm not too big on Bethany Leah.
Clara Beatrice or Clara June, depending on how young and springy you're going for. Evelyn or Joyce seem too dated to me.
Eliza Florence. It's pretty and flowy, and I tend to see Jeanette and Sadie as dated.
Emilia Florence for the same reasons. I don't really think Claire is dated, and it's still good but less flowy.
I really like Isla Guinevere, and Isla Niamh. I'd probably pick Isla Guinevere. Isla Kathleen is good too, but Kathleen has a more modern/almost dated feel. I've got nothing against Isla Margaret but it isn't as interesting as the others.
Lorna Kathleen. It sounds and looks better than Lorna Esme. I don't really like Marjorie (it's more of a cute old lady name to me, so I wouldn't dislike meeting one of using it on a character but I wouldn't use it on a baby.)
Noemia Ruth and Noemia Esther are nice. They're both sort of old-fashioned biblical without being dated or overused. Noemia Eve and Noemia Hope sound younger but more fillery.
Petra doesn't mesh well with any of these mns IMO. Petra is cool, wise, and "stone"-ish while Felicity, June, Melody, and Zoe are all young and bright and remind me of warm colors. I guess I'll pick Petra Melody because Melody has the calmest sound out of all of these.
Rose Amelia. It's pretty, slightly 'warm', and can fit any age. Rose Georgiana sounds more 'important' or regal. Rose Stella sounds more 'normal'.
For a full name, Lucy. I think Lucie only works if it's a nickname for something.
Lucy Viviana, Lucy Jane, Lucy Margaret, Lucy Tassia, Lucy Anastasia, Lucy Bethan, Lucy Saoirse, Lucy Wilhelmina, Lucy Winifred, Lucy Georgia, Lucy Georgiana, Lucy Rose, Lucy Elodie, Lucy Melody, Lucy Hope, Lucy Jessamine, Lucy Zinnia, Lucy Fiona, Lucy May, Lucy Raine, Lucy Mirielle
