I personally prefer Josie as a nickname for Joyce or Jocelyn. With that being said, I don't see why Josie shouldn't be used as a full name. Other names like Amy or Kelly have two syllables and end with an -ie sound, but they're seen as 'legit' full names. Sure, there are many more professional or adult sounding names, but Josie is fine.
