Elisa - like it
Silvia - love it!
Talia - not my style
Ruza - not familiar with it
Carole - like it, but it's kinda dated
Lesley - don't care for it, but at least it's better than Leslie. Still pretty dated, though.
Erin - love it!
Laura - love it!
Maree - prefer MarieVictor - love it!
Joseph - like it. Joe is a decent nickname. Joey reminds me of baby kangaroos.
Ashley - don't like it for either sex
Thomas - like it. Kinda boring though. The nicknames are okay.
Lachlan - sounds really stupid
Benjamin - not my style. Ben is okay. Benji is stupid.
David - boring and overused

Trevor - not my style. Trev is a stupid nickname.
Brian - like it

Michael - the ultimate in boring, overused names
Patrick - like it

Bernadette –I like Bernard but not the female forms
Rosa –love as a first name, boring as a middle
Grace –love as a first name, boring as a middle
Daniela –ok, very popular in my generation, so a bit boring
Elisa -ok
Silvia –like
Talia –ok, prefer it as a nickname for Natalia
Ruza –nice, doesn’t export well
Carole –dated, prefer Caroline
Lesley –prefer Leslie and for a man, but either way not a huge fan (probably because I had a male boss named Leslie, nn Les)
Erin –like
Laura –love pronounced ‘LAH-oo-rah’, but super popular here, so I’m tired of it
Maree –I’d pronounce this like Mari, not Marie, confusing to most people Victor –not a fan
Joseph –dislike (I don’t like any male form of this name)
Ashley –I like it for a boy and I love Ash as a nickname
Thomas –dislike
Lachlan –love, but pronounced the Scottish way
Benjamin –like it, but don’t like any nicknames for it so wouldn’t use it (it’s very rare here, so I’m not bored of it)
David –love pronounced ‘DAH-veed’
James –love it and Jamie as a nickname, don’t like Jim or Jimmy
Trevor –dislike
Brian –I always read this as brain
Robert –don’t like

Bernadette - I love Bernard (pr. BERnad, not berNARD) for a boy, but the fem forms are too long and clunky.
Rosa - Rose is better, and I don't even like it!
Grace - an unattractive sound, and a lot to live up to.
Daniela - I love Daniel for a boy but don't like any fem forms.
Elisa - no. Elizabeth or Elisabeth would be much better.
Silvia - good sound; I prefer Sylvia
Talia - No. Natalia if absolutely necessary.
Ruza - eh? Sounds like a board game. Ruth would be lovely.
Carole - nasty; better without the -e but still very dated
Lesley - unremarkable
Erin - dull
Laura - wonderful
Maree - where I live, it's a ln pronounced almost like Maria. Why not Marie?Victor - good; Vic is fine; not as good as Victoria
Joseph - I love Joe enough to use either Joseph or Joel
Ashley - better male than female, but still not good
Thomas - not a fan unless it shortens to Tom
Lachlan - OK given the right ethnicity; otherwise just trendy
Benjamin - very good
David - wonderful
James - wonderful
Trevor - unpleasantly retro. Trev is dreadful.
Brian - pleasantly retro
Robert - a fn for me, so useable; I prefer Robin
Michael - pity it's been so popular for so long
Patrick - very good

Bernadette! Keep on loving me, Bernadette! keep on needing me, Bernadette! I kinda hate that song so I don't like it. I also have an image of Bernadette Peters attached to it. I think the bern sound is ugly
Rosa - like it; seems Latina?
Grace - nice... demure and so very conservative, too much so for my taste.
Daniela - nice. There's one in my daughter's class.
Elisa - okay.
Silvia - okay. Stands out a little bit. This spelling seems Spanish or Italian
Talia - okay. nms
Ruza - pretty and unusual around here, could be hard to pronounce
Carole - love it.
Lesley - eh, I prefer Leslie on a man. Lesley on a woman seems sort of 1970s-androgynous, bighaired and gruff to me. But it'd be fine, not bad.
Erin - love it. This is the kind of fanciful name I like, rather than stuff like Emilia or Caoimhe or Autumn - it's so much tidier about its dreaminess.
Laura - can't go wrong classic. I prefer Laurel
Maree - I like that. Better than Marie, in a gp sort of way.Victor - like it; it's a little bit too butch and pointy for my taste to use, but it's likeable
Joseph - yawn ugh
Ashley - it's more of a girl name now. If I were a baby boy being born I'd say 'please don't name me Ashley, Mom. I'm a real guy, not the handsome lover character in your fantasy.'
Thomas - can't go wrong, and I love Tom. It's not the most dominant name. It's laid back.

Bernadette- I used to despise this name, but then I named my car Bernadette (it just looks like one) so I'm starting to warm up to it. The possibility of Bernie still irks me, though.
Rosa- Eh, it's not one of my favorite Rose names, but I don't mind it.
Grace- As a first name, it's nice. As a middle name, overused.
Daniela- Not a huge fan of it. I've never really thought much about it because my name is Danielle, so Daniela would never be a consideration for a daughter of mine.
Elisa- I would prefer Elise or Eliza.
Silvia- Right now I like the spelling Sylvia better, but this is pretty as well. Sylvia is actually one of my favorites.
Talia- It doesn't do a whole lot for me, and I think it's prettier as Thalia.
Ruza- I've never heard of this. Don't think I care for it.
Carole- I think Carol/Carole is awesomely retro. I know a lot of people see it as being dated, and it is, but I don't mind that.
Lesley- I've never liked this name. It sounds slimy.
Erin- Bland.
Laura- Classically appealing.
Maree- If it's supposed to be said like Marie, I'd prefer that.Victor- This is a name I'd like seeing on someone else's kid. A good name, just not one I see myself using.
Joseph- It's a nice, solid classic.
Ashley- I've always seen it as a girls name, even though I know it was originally male.

I'm just going to give you reasons for why I like the ones I like...Bernadette: The song.
Grace: It has a quiet strength that I really like. It's not the prettiest or the most exciting name, but it demands respect.
Elisa: It looks good on paper, and it sounds good. Win-win.
Erin: I love the way it sounds. It's solid, but not boring, IMO.Victor: I think it's nerdy, but handsome. It's like a geeky looking guy who reveals a ripped body when he takes off his shirt.
Joseph: It's soft and pretty, but still very masculine.
Thomas: It's dependable and smart.
Benjamin: Adorable. Great NN potential. Timeless.
David: Sweet and sensitive. Makes me think of an artistic kind of guy who remembers the little things that make you special, like how you take your coffee.
James: Another non-boring classic. Royal. Great name.
Michael: I like it because it's my dad's name.
Patrick: Sharp, witty, yet oddly soft-spoken. Mysterious.
