I wonder if Merrilee is honoring

I don't mind Ruth. To me, it's like Nora or Evelyn. Pretty old-school, but can also be cute.
Jonah, Calla, and Ruth actually fit together quite alright in my mind.

It's different. I respect Ruth, and Merrilee is fine since it's hidden in the middle, but they're a little odd together. Ruth is so serious, almost grim, and Merrilee is pure candyfloss. Together in a combo, they feel unbalanced. Still, she can be Ruthie, which is cute, and Ruth Merrilee is loads better than Calla Hope. Jonah, Hope, and Ruth would have been a great sibset. Jonah, Calla, and Ruth...not so much. Calla really sticks out.

I once worked with a girl named Merrilee, pronounced somewhere between merrily and Mary-Lee. However,it was, there, the convention to use last names only, so I seldom pronounced it. Ruth is a good name. I wouldn't use it where I live, as it would always be pronounced as "root."

Ruth is wonderful and should get more use.Merrilee is rather off-key. Somewhere on some pay TV channel, travel or food or something, there's a presenter named Merrilees, which is better but not good enough to copy. I suppose Meredith would be too -th with Ruth. Ruth Margaret would work; Ruth Marianne; Ruth Maria; even Ruth Melissa. Lots of nicer possibilities.

I love Ruth and Ruthie!

I adore Ruth, and Merrilee / Merrily is one of my guilty pleasures, so I like this combination.

I like Ruth, but the middle name isn't so great. Actually, Ruth Merrily, as in the word, would actually be kinda charming. :)

I love Jonah and Ruth for siblings, not so keen on Calla. Merrilee is nms either.

I don't like Ruth at all, but it could have been worse. Merrilee sucks and is very odd next to Ruth.I love Jonah and Calla Hope. Ruth sticks out like a sore thumb next to those two.

That's nice, I like it.
Well, I'd rather see a different spelling, because Merrilee is too much like "merrily." But anyway, Ruth is nice and it likes to have an M middle name IMO.
I do not like Jonah. Calla is nice. I think Calla Hope is an ugly combination.

Ruth and Merrilee have such different feelings to me. Together they scream under-educated conservative Christian, a type of person I don't like.

I don't know, maybe because Ruth is so old fashioned to me, I see it as a bit less ignorant. It's got a super different feeling than Jonah and Calla (and Merrilee), which have that sort of wild-eyed megachurch jumbotron christian vibe.

Ruth just sounds like somebody's grandma to me; I know it's Biblical but it doesn't even have that vibe to it. Jonah does have more of the Megachurch feel to it, but Calla doesn't at all. Calla just sounds vaguely Hollywood. Merrilee sounds like a sixties debutante from Mississippi.

Of course... I'm a snob and unsure of myself so much that I can't help but find fault with my husband's ex-girlfriend

I would never ever like the name of a husband's ex's child, even if it were like Minerva

I might still love the name - but I'd resent it a lot.
It'd sting if we knew anything at all about her continued existence, though.
Her name (not to stray too far off Name Opinions) was Weiping (Wei Ping?). I thought it was unfortunate, since it looks and sounds somewhat close to the word 'wiping.' But then, I would think that. lol

Is Merrilee pronounced like Mary-Lee? Or is it more like "merrily"?Ruth is nice, if a bit plain. I think Ruthie is more fitting for a little girl. I could take or leave Jonah, and I think Calla is horrible.

No idea.I didn't even think of the option Mary-Lee.
