Not usually very keen on Jack, but I like it with Sandy - they sound like a pair of intrepid Edwardian explorers. Alexander George is excellent, but like everyone else I don't get having a Lexi and an Alexander. Perhaps there's a grandfather Alexander in the mix somewhere? Or maybe it's a family surname?eta the only Sandy I've known personally was also Scottish. He'd be in his late 30s now.

Well, Jack is trendy with a courteous nod to Granddad and Sandy is retro (or is it still the default nn in Scotland? The only male Sandy I know in South Africa is in his 60s; the rest are all Alexes) so that's pretty nice, but Lexi seems to be in decline - used to get lots of them as the Alexa trend branched out into Alexis, Alexia etc ... I suppose if the parents liked those names but couldn't use them because of young Sandy, then they might have decided to get as close as they could without actually repeating themselves. To further evaluate: I like Alexa. And I like Sandy as a nn, but only male and only for Alexander, not Sandra. Also like John and Katrina (I'm guessing) and Jill, but not enough to use. Alexander George is magnificent! Conquering worlds, slaying dragons, saving princesses and back in time for tea. Lucky lad.

Not sure about Sandy as a default nickI know that the twins were named after the grandparents. Not sure how Trina spells her name! The only other Sandy I know is 67

Lexi is cute, I know a little Lexi. Some people might find it trendy or too nicknamey but I have a good association so I like it. Jack is nice enough, though very popular here and I like Alexander but Sandy is the worst nickname ever to come out of Alexander. Did he pick that himself? I hope he grows out of it. I don't actually like any nns for Alexander aside from maybe Xander. Which is why I'd only use it as a mn

Alexander George sounds downright royal! Not my style at all. I find both names pretty boring.Jack, Sandy, and Lexi is okay. Not particularly interesting. If Sandy is really Alexander George I'm going to guess that Jack is John Henry Wait a minute, what does that make Lexi. Is her full name Alex- something? Oh dear.

Lexi on its own is too nicknamey for me, and even as a nickname for Alexandra I don't like it. I can see why the parents wouldn't want to name a daughter Alexandra since they have a son named Alexander, but in that case I certainly would have foregone Lexi altogether.Jack I like but only as a nickname for John. Obviously these parents don't share my nickname-as-full-name aversion.I love Alexander but would never use it due to popularity. And Sandy as a male nickname just doesn't really work in the US, it's seen as too feminine here. I've known a zillion Alexanders and not one has gone by Sandy. I understand that's not necessarily true in other parts of the world, but as an American, I can't help hearing "Sandy" and thinking "too feminine."I've never liked George but it does sound good with Alexander.

I agree about the Alexander and Lexi, I can understand why they'd not want to use Alexandra, but come on! We all know they are the same name anyways. It's like naming your kids Maggie and Margaret. I love Alexander George but Sandy isn't really my style for a boy or a girl. I'd call him Sasha. Jack is a good name, boring but decent.

agree with most of thisLexi is icky to me even as a nn, so babyish and cutesy.
Jack I don't mind as a full name.
Sandy is definitely a female name now in the US, but not unheard of for males. Sandy Koufax, who I think was named Sanford. I'ts pretty outdated though for both, though Sandra is still modestly popular at least according to the charts. Everybody does know Sandy as the name of Annie's (male) dog. "Dumb dog, dumber than they come dog."
