Replies

Cressida - different but not too bad, maybe a little prissy
Philomena - hm. nms at all.
Flannery - like the Flannery O'Connor association, but is a bit like the surname Flanagan, and don't like the possible nn Flan
Maura - love it, also consider Maeve and I like Maureen too even though I think names like that are put down a bit lately I think they're nice and not overused these days like they were previously
Bridget - okay, a bit to much like Gidget for me, but not too bad. Prefer Brigid, Britt, Brielle, Brianne/a, Bryony or Brynn
Fiona - never been much of a fan. i find it a bit difficult to say actually, and nasally
Agnes - sort of like it in spite of myself. also one of my guilty pleasures is Agatha
Gwen - okay, like it as a nn for Gwenyth, too.
Isla - love
Esme - nice
Juniper - definitely warming up to this one. at first i thought what? but now i think it's cute but like that it has a "normal" nickname in June. I expect to see more of these and Marigolds and Magnolias around (much prefer Magnolia to Marigold though)
Evadne - sort of awkward to say, but okay I guess since you can use Eva for a nn. It looks cool.Franz - not a fan.
Bastian - Like it, and then also don't. Prefer it to Sebastian, though. And like Bast as a nn as a guilty pleasure because of the cool character in Patrick Rothfuss' books - read them! (unfortunately people'd think of the goddess who was, well, female)
Felix - like it on paper, but not in real life. cool sound.
Ignatius - nope. to pretentious for me.
Claudio - okay so we have different styles which is fine. i don't like this one either. But maybe better than Claude. Maybe?
Lorenzo - okay. Enzo's cool. I do like Loren. For some reason I don't love them together. Prefer Leander/re/ros (Andy or Leo as nn).
Flynn - okay, nice. Also like Finn, maybe more.
Evander - cool. like that it has Evan or Anders or Andy or Ender as nn options.:)

Cressida- I like it as a GP. I worry that the general public will find it too stuffy.
Philomena- Generally not a fan of Phil names, but this one is okay.
Flannery- While it has a decent namesake, I just can't see it as very feminine or pretty.
Maura- Doesn't do anything for me.
Bridget- I like it. And it's surprisingly less common than I'd expect. I'm pretty sure I've only met two.
Fiona- I love Fiona. It's grown on me a lot over the past few months. I'd consider it for my own daughter. It just has such a light, musical sound. And Fi is so cute as a nickname.
Agnes- It's still too "old lady" for me.
Gwen- I prefer Gwendolen, which is very pretty. Just Gwen doesn't do much for me.
Isla- It's a nice name, I'm just tired of seeing it amongst namenerds.
Esme- Never cared for it very much. It just seems like a couple of sounds put together to me.
Juniper- I like the quirkiness of it, and the nature connection. But I do prefer just June.
Evadne- Interesting, unusual in look and sound. A stand-out.Franz- I like it, but not sure if it could work on a modern boy in my area.
Bastian- I'd prefer Sebastian. Lopping off the first syllable makes this sound too similar to "bastard."
Felix- Never liked it. Reminds me of cats and "feel licks."
Ignatius- I like it. It's out-there but you could easily nickname him Nate and have the best of both worlds.
Claudio- Eh, it's okay.
Lorenzo- Same. I'm not such a fan of these "exotic" ends in O style names.
Flynn- It has sort of a swashbuckling, debonair feel to it, but perhaps that's just due to the Tangled character.
Evander- I love it. There's an almost whimsical quality to it, yet it's perfectly accessible.

Cressida- I don't like it.
Philomena- A little dowdy.
Flannery- If I met one IRL I'd think it were really weird but kind of cool.
Maura- Not great, not terrible.
Bridget- I go back and forth on this. Today I prefer the softer Briggite.
Fiona- Pretty and familiar without being overused.
Agnes- I can only picture a witch, and Aggie would be awful. The sound also reminds me of "gagging".
Gwen- It seems too insubstantial as a full name and I don't like any other traditional full names for it... But I like Gwen.
Isla- A nice name. I prefer Ayla, which I pronounce the same.
Esme- I don't personally like it, but there are plenty of worse names out there.
Juniper- It has charm and spunk, but would definitely take the right personality to pull off.
Evadne- The -dn in the middle is a bit awkward to pronounce (I feel the same way about Ariadne or Sidney)Franz- Don't like it at all.
Bastian- I'd think it were okay if I heard it on someone else's kid.
Felix- Sounds both whiny and nerdy to me.
Ignatius- Too pompous, and would definitely be shortened to Iggy (yuck).
Claudio- I like it enough in theory, but I can't picture it on anyone under 40.
Lorenzo- Love it. It would even be on my short list if my BF or I were any part Italian (unfortunately just can't see it on a blonde haired, freckled Irish/Polish kid!)
Flynn- Seems to be trendy but not used often at the same time. I personally like it.
Evander- I like plain Evan so much more.

There are some which really intrigue me (Cressida, Fiona, Juniper, Evadne, Lorenzo) and some which I really dislike (Philomena, Agnes, Felix, Ignatius). If I had to use one of these names for my child, I'd probably go with Fiona. Although I love Lorenzo, it would be ridiculous with my surname, lol.

I really like Maura and Agnes, and Gwen and Evadne are ok. From your boys list I like Franz, Bastian, Lorenzo and Evander.

Cressida - I've seen a lot of folks call this name trashy and I don't get why tbh I think it's classy and beautiful.
Philomena - I don't like the 'philo' at the start cause I think of the dough. It's not a bad sound overall though and is kinda pretty but nsm
Flannery - do not like at all. Just really unpleasant sounding and looking.
Maura - classic and pretty
Bridget - nsm but not terrible, and I don't like a lot of the nn possibilities
Fiona - classic and pretty
Agnes - I flip-flop on thinking this is alright to thinking it ugly. I think it's slowly shedding off the crazy old lady vibe it's got but it is still there
Gwen - gorgeous, but I prefer it as a nn It has an ethereal vibe I love
Isla - Simple and cute
Esme - sophisticated, beautiful, and delicate
Juniper - clunky in an adorable way, the nn of June or Junie is extra cute, love it
Evadne - worldly and elegantFranz - goofy looking and sounding, don't like it
Bastian - I flip-flop in my preference between this and Sebastian. I think it's a handsome sound and looks and sounds sophisticated.
Felix - adorable
Ignatius - like Juniper, it's clunky in a cute way
Claudio - don't like it
Lorenzo - don't like it, sounds skeezy to me for some reason
Flynn - will never sound like a real name to me
Evander - love it, makes Evan 1000x better, gives it a stately handsome vibe

I like Agnes, Isla, Esme and Juniper, and from your boys names Bastian and Flynn. The other ones aren't my style at all. I particularly dislike Philomena, because it's so old fashioned, Cressida, Claudio and Lorenzo.

Cressida: NMS. It makes me think of croissants.
Philomena: Nice, but very old lady. Very gray. I picture it on a British librarian.
Flannery: O'Connor. Eh, she was all right. I don't much care for the name itself; it sounds like it's really stretching to be a name, but doesn't quite get there.
Maura: Prefer Moira.
Bridget: Nice. A little awkward, but nice.
Fiona: Princess-y. I'm slowly warming to it, but I used to despise this name.
Agnes: Ugly, but in a good way. I really like it.
Gwen: I really like Gwen, but I think it works better as a NN. Gwendolen/Gwendolyn, Gwyneth, whatever.
Isla: Insubstantial. Hardly there. It's like a soft echo that you barely pick up on... isla . Blech.
Esme: Sounds gross to me. I really hate it.
Juniper: Bright, lively, slightly dim but not stupid. I dig it.
Evadne: NMS.Franz: Ferdinand. I like it all right. Not one of my favorites, but it has its charm.
Bastian: Eh...prefer SEbastian.
Felix: The Cat. Nah, Felix is okay. I knew a Felix in high school, and he was the only one. Not sure that would happen these days, but you never know.
Ignatius: This was going to be my niece's name if she were a boy. I'm glad she's a girl.
Claudio: At first it sounds strange, but then it grows on you. It's adorably weird.
Lorenzo: Kind of cool. Friendly, too.
Flynn: Hate it as much as I hate Isla, for the same reason. It's so BORING.
Evander: Holyfield. I like it, though. It's handsome.

Cressida - I want to like this, but I don't really. It reminds me of Crest toothpaste.
Philomena - I love this, I think it might be a little over the top but it's pretty and different.
Flannery - Awful for a boy. Unforgivable for a girl.
Maura - pretty.
Bridget - pretty.
Fiona - for some reason this is one of my most hated legit names.
Agnes - I don't like it all that much in English, but love it in every other language.
Gwen - not my favourite but a nice nickname for a longer Gwen- name.
Isla - I see this mentioned so often on every name board that I am kind of bored of it.
Esme - This spelling feels masculine to me, I also find the name too lispy.
Juniper - Lovely.
Evadne - Pretty. Franz - As a nickname its nice, but it doesn't feel like a full name.
Bastian - same as Franz.
Felix - Nice.
Ignatius - Over the top, even my friend Ignatius thinks it's ridiculous. It is handsome though.
Claudio - It's a nice name, would be weird on someone who wasn't Spanish or Italian
Lorenzo - very handsome.
Flynn - I like it less than Finn and I'm really not that fond of Finn.
Evander - Handsome.
