I suppose Alexandra is my favorite, since it's the most classic and stalwart. Alexa simply does nothing for me; Alexis is vacuous and snippy and spoiled (that is, reminiscent of such a person); and Alexia is a reading disorder. My favorite variants of Alexandra are Alexandrina, Alexandrine, and Alexina.
Alexandra. It's a standard classic feminine name, to me, especially because the common use of Sandra predates my lifetime. To me it's like Stephanie or Katherine or Margaret or Joanna. It's not bratty or frilly. I don't get why people think it is.
Alexa is nice, more modern seeming IMO. I think of it as Alyssa for people who are too hip for Alyssa... I like both of those names but not as much as Alexandra, because Alexandra sounds more powerful.
Alexis is a soap opera / YA novel character type name IMO, on either sex. Makes me think of Lexisnexis and Lexus. Sorta gimmicky or brandnamey. It's more heroic on a guy but on a girl it just seems trendy-unisex, like a sister for Riley (f) and Luka (m). It's not BAD but it's nms.
Alexia means inability to read (and it's also a brand name of frozen potatoes, although that matters less), so I'm turned off. It's ruined like Melina and Sephora are.

Alexia. I love it. It's not as harsh as Alexa or Alexandra, nicer sounding than Alexis. Alessia is even more beautiful. Alexia just flows nicely phonetically and I like it. My next pick would be Alexandra, even though I know so many people with that name. Then Alexis, then Alexa.
Alexandra x a million
It's elegant and regal and historical. The rest I think are frilly, froofy, blehhhhhh. I used to love Alexandra enough I wanted to use it, but then got bored with it. I still appreciate it though.

As a full name for daily use, I prefer Alexa. Pretty, serene and dignified, and it always sounds happy. Alexia needs a therapist, and Alexis is male, or should be. And Alexandra might be OK as a mn - in fact, Ruth Alexandra Jones or Jane Alexandra Smith would be really good - but it would shorten to something like Sandra or Lexi, which is not good at all.
While this group of names isn't my favorite in general, I like Alexandra and Alexandria the best. To me Alexis sounds a) a little snooty and b) like "a Lexus". Alexa is nicer, but a bit made-up seeming, and Alexia sounds a bit like a strange disease or pharmaceutical product.
Also, w/ the first two, I like that you can make the nickname Andi/Andy or even Andra rather than just Alex or Lexi :)
