Which would you choose?
So from the list below, which name would you choose for the younger brother of Jasper? Names are: Jethro - We live in Australia, so the hillbilly association is not an issue. Max - Would be the full name, not short for anything. Very popular here though, but we all love it, especially Jasper! Harry - Again, this would be the full name, no Henry "Harry". Another popular name.Taj - Means "crown" in Arabic and we have a middle eastern ln.Zain - Means "beauty, grace" in Arabic.Zane - Unknown meaning, which puts me off a little, as I love to know what names mean. I prefer the look of Zane to Zain though.Taj, Zain and Zane are just names I have been thinking about recently. We may not go with any of the names on this list, just after opinions. The top 3 names mentioned above we have been discussing though.Sarah -

Jethro - I don't like itMax -
Harry - nice as nns, but using them as fns bugs meTaj - Zain nice way to honor your heritageZane - this looks "cowboyish" and unattractive

In my response, I just chose the one I liked best, and didn't get into the ones I don't like and why I don't like them, but I'll throw in here that I hate Zane. I hate most "cowboy" names, and Zane is one of the more obvious ones.

I love Max I dislike Harry Zane, taj, jethro. Max is classic and not too popular. You could always go Maxwell or maximillian or Maximus? For a bit of uniqueness.

Taj would be my first choice, partly because it goes really well with Jasper but also because I love the name. Harry would be my second choice and Zane my third. I like hearing both of those names but probably wouldn't use them myself. Again, they both go really well with Jasper =)

I like Max best from that list. It's spunky and ages well and it also sounds fab with Jasper.I live in Australia too and Jethro screams redneck hillbilly to me. I think of The Beverly Hillbillies- there were always reruns on when I was a kid and I'd say a decent chunk of the adult population would think of that too. Jasper and Jethro don't sound great to me either.Harry is good. I like Harry.Taj is very Australia trendy. It sounds mismatched with Jasper.I like Zane. My cousin recently had a baby boy named Zane. Again, I think it sounds mismatched with Jasper.

Love, love love Max:) definitely my first choice! Although I do like Jethro. It sounds adorable as a sibset, Jasper and Jethro:)
Third choice would be Zane. Zain's meaning is cool, but I like the look of Zane much better.

I'd go with Harry. Jasper and Harry just sounds good.

My favorite is Taj... By a mile! I really love this name and wish it were feasible for me to pull off. Also I think it pairs with Jasper nicely, in an oddly mismatched sort of way- if that makes any sense

I'd go with Max. I like just Max too, and I think it goes wonderfully with Jasper. It's my favorite of all the choices as well.

From your list, I'd go with Jethro or Harry, though neither is a favorite of mine.Max is way too popular. I saw someone did a study of all the Max forms, Maximillan, Maxwell, Maxim, Maxus, as one name and it pushes it within the top 10 or 20. I don't care for Taj at all.I prefer Zane also, but wasn't Zane the slave of Mohammed? Also Zane/Zain has a very trendy sound. Even if that name itself isn't trending, it sounds like names that are trending.

I'm surprising myself and liking Zane the best. Max is fine, but it seems kinda default. Zane and Jasper just sounds... stylish and edgy but nice edgy. :)

Harry. I like it, and even though I'm a nickname purist, Harry is close to crossing the line (to me) of becoming a name in its own right. The way that Nancy has. It's close. I love Max, but Max is not even close to crossing the line, so I vote Harry.

Personally I don't think any of the names compliment Jasper that well..I do love Jethro to death, but I think Jasper and Jethro are complete opposites.Max is sweet and that probably fits nicest with Jasper, though I have a soft spot for Taj (I LOVE Taj Burrows) but its also uber trendy.

I live in Australia too, and I was like "what hillbilly association?" haha. Jethro immediately makes me think of Jethro Tull, but I don't think it's a bad name. I wouldn't choose it though. Max is nice. It's short and sweet. I like Harry the best. It's good name. I also really like Taj. I think Jasper and Taj would fit really well together. Zain and Zane automatically make me think go Zayn Malik from One Direction. Which is not a bad thing. I think they fit with Jasper the least out of the list. If it was me choosing, I'd pick Harry, definitely. By the way, I love the name Jasper the best of all!

Definitely Jasper and Max. They go very well together.

Jasper and Jethro is an AWESOME sibset! I don't typically like alliteration in sibsets, but both names are just so cool, I love them!Max and Harry are nice, but not very exciting. I don't like the others.

Taj and Zain are the two most complementary possibilities in terms of style and background to Jasper, however, I'd have to go with Max. Jasper and Max sound great together.

That's weird because I think Jasper and Zain don't complement each other at all!

I would choose either Max or Zane. I like both of them and I think they go great with Jasper.
(I don't like any of the others, tbh. Taj is interesting though)
I personally would probably go with Max because it's "safer" than Zane. Zane sounds vaguely trendy, while Max is more like Jasper - fashionable but not creative. I like Zane just as much as I like Max, though... I like unusual names, I am just less inclined to use them for my own sons than I am for my own daughters.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'm the opposite. I like more unusual names for boys. Then again, I'm much more interested in boy names in general.

Jasper is not very common here in Australia. I mean it has cracked the Top 100 the last few years, but has always remained toward the end of that list. I certainly wouldn't classify it as "not creative", but that's what puts me off using Max, as that is super popular here and would seem to be a bit of a "go to" name. Naming can be a tough journey!

Hm, to me Jasper is a fairly traditional name, or at least traditionally styled compared to Zane. Regardless of whether or not it's frequent. That's all I meant by not creative ... it's not a criticism. =) In case you took it that way.I didn't realize Max was as popular as that in Australia. I also was under the impression that Jasper is a lot more popular here in the US, than it actually is!Well, if Max and Zane were off the list, I'd vote Taj.
