Re: Boy's name options... your feelings on these please
Theo- Well, I love this. I say it approximately four thousand times a day, and after nearly three years...still love it. We get a lot of compliments.
Seth- I've always loved this name. I had a sweet, funny childhood friend by this name, so I'll always have a soft spot.
Jonathan- This name is not a favourite of mine at all. It's sort of annoying to me. Which is weird, b/c I do like both John and Nathan. But Jonathan grates on me. I grew up with a cool Jonathan, but we always called him by a nickname (not Jon). Still wasn't enough to make me like the name, and usually associations will make or brake a name for me.
Rowan- Like I said, associations. In this case- an insanely gorgeous, brilliant man who saved my life. So, yeah. I love it. Can't get my DH to agree to it though, ha! It's a mystery ;) Unreasonably good looking namesakes aside, I love nature names and they are so hard to come by for boys. If I ever have a red-headed son (distinct possibility, strong family trait), I reserve the right to change his name to this at birth.
Hamish- One of my top picks if we have another son, and I just got my DH to agree! I sold him with the nickname Hayes, a name I also love. It's such an sweet, underused gem.
Jonah- I like this. It's just cute, but also grows well. I do prefer Judah, personally. But that's b/c I fear "Jo", and love Jude.
Felix- our other top contender for son #2. It's so stylish, yet classic. Funky, but timeless. Just charming.
Tobin- Well, I do love Toby, but I'd go for that via Tobias, myself. Again, it's an association thing. Unfortunately, there is a rather unsavoury family from my small town with this as a surname...so it's definitely tainted for me. But if I could detach from that, I do think it is very nice and would be pleased to hear it on someone else's child.
Jasper- I used to like this more than I do now. It's lost some of it's luster for me. I still like it, but it is a place name for me (I'm Canadian), so I think that impacts for me. Plus, I would fear the nickname "Jazz" *shudders*. I love to hear it being used though, it just wouldn't make the cut for me.
