I like it, but it's becoming overused, at least in places I've lived in. It's too much into the short, sweet, vaguely nicknamey trend.

Good point. I've only ever known one Maya. But I do tend to like longer given names for both genders. I don't know if this would work as a nickname for a full name either. Thanks for the input!

I pronounce it MY-ah. Using that pronunciation I like Maya Azure and Maya Elisabeth (prefer this spelling). Thanks for the suggestions.
