Drew Barrymore named her daughter...
...Frankie Barrymore Kopelman. Not Frances or Francesca, just Frankie.I love Frankie on a girl, but I can't help but think Frances or Francesca NN Frankie would have been better. Frances Barrymore Kopelman would have been great.Thoughts? "What matters most is how well you walk through the fire." -Charles Bukowski

Frankie is a boys' nickname to me, but I can see it on a girl.

Basically I agree with you. Though, in general I prefer giving longer names that allow for nick names.

I think Frankie is a cute nickname, but it is much more my style to go with Frances "Frankie" or some such, like you said.Isn't their other daughter Olive? Frankie and Olive sounds like a children's book. Very cute, although Olive got away with the better name IMO.

I agree with you. I think Frances would've matched Olive better, and would've given her more name options. That said, it's not ridiculous like many celeb baby names. And I quite like Frankie as a nn for a little girl. So, not the best but still much better than many celebs' choices! Not to mention, she must be somewhat biased being named Drew herself :D

I don't like it. Frankie is a masculine name to me (Frank Sinatra = Frankie Boy). I would have preferred Frances or Francesca or even Francine.

I love Frankie on a girl (and a boy) but I think I'm a little disappointed. I had high hopes for her - her first kid is Olive, right? Frances "Frankie" would have been more pleasing. Whoa I'm a snob. Olive and Frankie are cute sisters though.

Meh. I don't like nns as full names but at least it's not one of those weird publicity stunt celeb names.

I like it.

I love Frankie for a girl but hate with a passion Frances or Francesca. I really like that she's used it without a full name.

I agree, I would have preferred a more formal name, with Frankie as a nickname. I LOVE Frances, so that would be my preference, but Francesca is nice too. It's cute though, and the sibset is adorable.

Wow, that is so fugly =(I had thought Drew Barrymore seemed cool, but she just earned ten loser points in my book.

I...kind of like it. Olive and Frankie. I mean, that's very cute.

I would prefer Frances nn Frankie, because Frankie is too nicknamey as a first name. It is cute, though.

Frankie is pretty awful. It doesn't even match the style of Olive (which I hate, but it sure tops Frankie). It just leaves the poor tyke with no options.

Hate it....(m)I don't even like Frank on a boy.I think B. has a sister named Frankie. I think so. His sisters are named Judy, Mary Ann, and Frankie. I'm pretty sure. I don't think Frankie is a nickname for anything in his sister's case.

Yes, Francesca would have been so much better.

Agreed. I don't even like Frances or Francesca but I prefer Frankie to be a nn only. Frankie and Olive are a cute sibset. I could see a plucky young adult series about the duo.*Edited to add:Drew is a typical masculine nn so maybe Frankie was her way of passing it down. I know Drew was a family name but maybe Frankie is too.

I too would have preferred a more formal given name with Frankie as a nickname. Frankie is super adorable for a girl though.

I don't like it at all. :(

Disappointed! I've been waiting to hear her baby news to hear what name they would go with and tbh, I don't like it! She is here safe and sound though, so that's the main thing. Drew seems pretty cool, so congrats to her and her family.

I hadn't even known she was pregnant again.:)

I'm not wild about Frances, though I kind of like Francesca. But at least Frances doesn't sound like a 1940's dance-hall hooker. Frankie and her homely, sad-sack sister Olive. Isn't her other daughter named Olive? I seem to remember.

Olive and Frankie, yeah. I think it's a cute sibset.
