Multiples
Any ideas for twin/triplets names? Multiples are difficult.
What is your opinion on giving them a theme/starting the names with the same letter/using anagrams/using names with the same meaning? Would it be better to give them names that were totally separate but still sound great as a pair? What are your top choices for b/b, g/g, and g/b twins? I'd love to hear them! Also any triplet combos you may have. I personally love Audra Olivia and James Octavian. WDYT?

I'd name them the same as I'd name two sibiings. With my favourites. I'd avoid intentional themes, using the same letter etc unless your two favourites just happened to have that connection. Twins get mixed up enough over the courses of their lives. They deserve to be individuals. My step siblings are twins. Their names are Rhys Kieran & Ceridwen Jill "Ceri".I'd name twins:Xanthe Opal Esther & Avielle Carys Reverie
Xanthe Opal Esther & August Felix Matthias
August Malachi Ezra & Grover Felix MatthiasA 3rd girl would be Sylvie Rowan Delphine and a 4th would be Eisley Maeve Elodie.
A 3rd boy would be Oscar Levi Ignatius and a 4th would be nameless.

I've got my twinsets down, because this is what I do in my spare time, LOL.B/B = Tobias Henry and Sebastian Drew; why? I think Tobias and Sebastian sound great as a pair without being too matchy, I love the fact that the combos have the same number of syllables, and this is achieved still with family middle names.G/G = Luna Vivienne and Margot Nicola; why? Same as above with the boys, I think both names "match" but not overly so, and I think the rhythm they both seem to possess, again the middles are honouring.B/G = Tobias Henry and Rose Eleanor Mary; why? Simply, these are my favourite names. Rose's two middle names hold a lot of significance, plus I think Tobias and Rose sound nice as siblings. The fact that the syllables are not the same amount bugs me but I can't think of a way around it without taking away one of Rose's middle names or changing one for something I love less.
I love Alexandra, Arianna and Adelaide are girl triplets. Yes, a part of me thinks it is too much, but I love all three names individually (enough to have them all in my top ten), and I just think if I am ever blessed with three girls this would be the perfect way to use them all. Nicknames Allie, Annie and Addie, of course.I have no other triplet pairing, it's too hard! Especially the boys, after Tobias and Sebastian I have no idea where to go.

I think children should be named for the unique and special individuals they are, not in sme cutesy, themey way that somehow is sure to indicate to the world that they are and ever will be "multiples." I prefer to pick names that have no outright connection but sound great. For example, I might go with historical figures:Amelia, Eleanor & Henryor grandparents:Evelyn, Ada, & Williamor something equally non-descript. I think people notice multiples without all the in-your-face themey names people give them. For example, I would never have Stephen and Steven (though I've seen it) or Kaylynn and Kailynn or Faith, Grace, and Hope. Its just cheesy. And sort of like a joke you are playing on your kids.

I always think that names that aren't necessarily a theme but "fit" together sound the best. Alexander and Elizabeth for example. Having said that, I'd still use my favourite names on a set of multiples which would be:Lilia Adele and Arielle JadeLilia Adele and Elijah ThomasElijah Thomas and August Micah

Naming twins is hard! We only had one name (Maeve) and now I posted here and we have too many!
We don't want to give our girls names that are anagrams or whatever just because they're twins. They'll grow up very different people and each one should have a name that we love more than any other name. Only they have to sound nice together obviously but that's okay. They'd have to sound nice together even if they were not twins.

I think it is important to give kids born as multiples names that stand are unique and stand out for each child. I don't like overly matchy sibsets but I do like theming. some of my favorites are. g/g Lilith Sophia and Naomi Aurora
b/b Micah Robert and Ruben Marlow
g/b Aysel and Evren for triplets I really like naming them in birth order

Personally, if I had twins, I'd just give them my two favorite names. But I think it's okay to use a theme, or the same initial letter, or the same meaning. It's just when they get too matchy that I'd object, such as rhyming, i.e. Barry and Larry, or feminine/masculine matches, such as Gerald and Geraldine, and I knew a set of twins named Mary Beth and Mary Kate, like no, that shouldn't have happened. Anagrams are maybe going a little too far.But again, if I had twins, I'd just want to give them my two favorite names, and wouldn't want to be restricted by fitting into a theme or using the same initial letter or same meaning, though I think there's nothing wrong with that. If I had two boys, they'd be Quentin and Evander, two girls, Vivien and Verity, boy/girl, Quentin and Vivien. Vivien and Verity happen to start with the same letter, but that's because I happen to like girls' names that start with a V. I could have two non-twin girls with the same names.

For me, I'd name multiples the same way I'd name any other siblings. Same style, but not the same letter or theme. Audra and James sound like a good sibset to me.
