Re: Rose and its varieties
I have been having this very same debate for a while now. Rose is a family name (DH's side- great grandma's first name, aunt's middle name, and on my side my much loved step mother's middle), and it is rising to the top of my list if we were to have another daughter. But, I am big on naming 'options' so I really prefer having a formal name with good nickname potential. Plus, I really, really love Rosemary and Rosalie. So, on the one hand, I love the quiet beauty of simply Rose, and worry that using a more elaborate form might detract from that, as well as the honouring part, but on the other hand, I fear that using just Rose is squandering my naming possibilities. Sorry, that was more ramble than assistance, but I do commiserate with the dilemma. _______________________________________________________________Listen to Mustn'ts, child, listen to the Don'ts.
