Re: And 50 new boys' names to ponder!
I love Casper, Clark, and Conrad - they have a ton of personality. Claudio and Corbin (makes me think of Corwin from the Chronicles of Amber) are cool too. I like Constantine in full, but in my head it automatically shortens to Kosta, which is also fine but takes away the richness and magic of the full name. If that makes sense.Other points of interest: Cohen is very very surnamey. Not only that, but it is a surname that carries all sorts of religious meanings to this day, so it feels really weird as a first name. I like the sound of Cassidy, but on a girl, probably because it turns into Cassie so easily. Chansey is a Pokemon. I feel like I can't appreciate a few of the names here because I lack the cultural context, for example Cord, Chakotay (I'd never have guessed this was from Star Trek of all things), Cayukatee and Caslav (which is very cool, now that I've looked it up). Much of what makes a name interesting is its history and familiarity, so putting up a lot of familiar names along with a few unfamiliar names without any context is a little jarring, and I have a hard time thinking about them constructively. This is not against your post (which has caused me to discover a couple of interesting names- thanks!), it's just an interesting phenomenon...
