Re: My favourite names right now..
Isobel: Isabel is just okay, Isobel just doesn't look right.
Zara: Seems science-fictiony.
Eloise: Limp and whiny while trying hard to be Victorian.
Matilda: Hate it, will never understand its trendiness.
Catherine: It's harmless but dull.
Niamh: I know it's pronounced Neev, which I think it an ugly sound, but the spelling reminds me of the kids' classic "Mrs. Frisbee and the Rats of NIMH." National Institutes of Mental Health, if I recall. Mrs. Frisbee was a rat herself.
Laura: Very nice, wil never really be out of style.
Alexandra: Annoying, overrated. I do like Alexis.
Willow: It's okay, but only just okay.
Mia: The sound of a cat demanding to be let out.
Victoria: This is like Alexandra's identical twin, style and annoyance wise.
Elise: Slithery and posh.
Elisabeth: Yawn. Even the more unusual s can't make it any less boring.
Louise: Not bad, especially as a middle name.
Tessa: Baby talk sounding.
Michaela: Love the sound, don't care for this spelling even if it is the original. Makayla or Mikayla.
Madeleine: Blah. This spelling is obnoxious.
Cristina: Love it, but much prefer Christina or Kristina.
Caspian: Fanfictiony.
Liam: Whiny, weak, yuppie.
Zac: Looks medical, like Prozac. Zachary is irritating but bearable.
Heath: Hate it, sound and look.
Xavier: Kind of neat.
Alexander: No. Alex is okay.
Julius: Comical; probably better in fiction than in real life at this point.
Jarvis: Ugly.
Flynn: Liam's whiny little brother. They probably have a sister named Lulu or Evie.
Phineas: Always thought this sounded like a body part, possibly in the nose.
Oliver: Hate this. Slithers in the mouth like liver.
Christian: It's okay.
Tristan: It's very nice. A bit easy to mishear as the girls' name Kristen.
Jasper: Matilda's obnoxious hipster brother.
Isaac: Not bad at all.
Matthias: Not as bad as Matthew but that's not saying very much.
Aaron: Not a big favorite but it's not bad.
Brodie: Bratty Brody.
