Boys vs Girls Suggestion thread
I was thinking the other day that I literally have like 3 names that I like for a girl and like 1000 for a boy. I was wondering how many people have more names for one gender than the other. So I thought i'd do a suggestion thread for anyone else having the same problem! Post what names you need (girls or boys) then post a few names that you like and everyone else can offer more suggestions! :)

BoysI have two boys names that I love and DH finds okay. Basil
AugustusHe likes George and Julius which I am okay with but don't love. Then there are the names that I love that he doesn't.Archibald
Barnaby
Bernard
Casper
Cecil
Harvey
Horatio
Otto
Reginald
Rupert
WilfredBesides George and Julius I haven't heard him mention other names. The situation is also fairly similar for girls names but luckily there are a few names we love in common.

Boys!I hardly ever fall in love with boys names as much I do girls. I honestly forget about boys names most of the time. These are some boys names I like:Rex
Casper
Cosmo
Jabez
Mordecai
Baxter
Homer
Webster
Kentigern
Horatio
(so basically anything fun and wacky)

Really? Those are the boys names you like? Somehow I was totally expecting Henry, Arthur, and Rupert or something. Go figure.Webster is awesome and would be so gutsy and cool and nerdy at the same time.I don't even know where to begin on this. Umm...
Tenzing?
Kepler?
Millar?
Sorry, sometimes all that comes out is surnames.
Augustus
Nebuchadnezzar
AbednegoYeah, I'm kind of stumped by the eclecticness of it all. Sorry.

I do like names like Henry, Rupert and Arthur in theory, but I don't know if I would be satisfied with naming real people those names. I have terrible taste, you see, and I'm allergic to subtlety.Kepler is STUPENDOUS!
As is Nebuchadnezzar. Glorious names!Thank you ;)

"I'm allergic to subtlety" is a wonderful line. So often I find I am responding to combos and saying that they are uninteresting or forgettable. I may have some symptoms of the same syndrome.I know a real-life Kepler! He delivers my flyers. Cool, eh?
Sadly, I do not know a real like Nebuchadnezzar.

GirlsI love boys name and find them way more interesting than girls names. I have 3 I love for a girl, and way way more for a boy. Also, I can look at boys names and appreciate them, even if they aren't on my favourites pile. But girls, I just kind of dismiss. They never grab me. Weird.Anyway, we can try...I like Mattea, Kezia, and Soraya best.

What aboutLinnea
Avalon
Jacinta
Aurelia
Greer
Zinnea
Peony
Freya
Saskia

I like Avalon itself, but have some cheesy lame associations that bug me.
Jacinta. Hm. That is really cool. I've seen it around the board before but never taken it seriously. I shall think on that one today.
Zinnea is very fun. I'm liking it!

you have fascinating taste in girls names. Exotic, international, and airy. Let me see...Amira
Faiza
Galila
Hania
Noemi
Rahela
Sapphira
Talitha
Amedea
Daria
Loredana
Milena
Osanna
Velia
Zaira

My taste is fascinating, yet I find girls names entirely unfascinating. Fascinating... :)Amira is very nice. I've never considered it.
Noemi is okay, but it just feels like Naomi got jumbled when I say it.
Amedea is okay, I like Amadea much better though and have it on my list.
Osanna is really grabbing me tonight. I love Hosanna, but my husband says it's ridiculous, so I've stopped thinking about it. Osanna is very nice too. I should really take Hosanna more 'seriously' now that we're done having kids anyway and it's all just for fun.

Nadia is great. I forgot about Nadia. Thanks for the reminder!Amedea is very nice. I have Amadea on my list, as I like that spelling a bit better.Keira used to be one of my favourites as a teenager. I still like it, but find it a bit more ordinary than some others.Marzia is cool. I'm going to have to let that one percolate a bit.

Boys for sure!Tobias and Sebastian have been at the top of my boys list for years! But after that it kind of drops off... I've got the likes of Tennyson, Caleb, Jeremy, Atticus and Sydney on my list but nothing I love as much as Tobias and Sebastian. So thank you in advance for any suggestions :)

Lukas used to be my no2 name and then I fell out of love with it, while Theodore has been on and off for ages. I do like Theo though.Thank you :)

Archer and Vincent are on my list, Archer probably higher than Vincent even though I find it hard to envisage it on a real person.
Lucan has a really nice sound but it's too associated with Lord Lucan where I am.
Henry is on my list as a middle name as it's family significant.Thank you :)

Love Cyrus, but only because it is my nephew's name, so definitely out the picture for me.
Moss is cool, along the same kind of lines as Marshall and Clark I think, names I think are awesome but hard to imagine on a real person.
Alexander has been on my list for a long time, only problem is that I only really like the nickname Lex, which I think would be hard to reinforce.
I like Samson, and Sam isn't too bad, though I think I prefer Sam (Samantha) on a girl.
Raphael is a new like of mine, thank you, but I feel a bit too exotic for my ordinary English existence. Lol.Thank you :)

Girls, please!!I have a similar issue, DH and I have agreed on about 20 names for girls but out of that 20 there are only a handful that I really love (Adela is our hands down number one). A few names DH has approved to give you a sense of our style:Adela
Adelina
Almira
Audra
Eleanor
Evelyn
Gwen
Luna
Vivien (or Vivienne - which is better?)I wouldn't turn down suggestions for boys names, although we have more DH approved names for boy than girls, there isn't a stand out favorite. My top choice is Killian or Thorin and DH's top is Damien but I'm not 100% sold on any of them. A few more we both like are Alister, Abram, Dimitri and Henrik.

Girls!Husband and I have like no girls names. If we ever have more than one girl, we are screwed. We like:Girls:
Daphne (has been our no.1 for like 4 years)
Hilda (grandmothers name)
WinifredOthers:
Rowena (I love, he doesn't)
Seraphine (He loves, I don't)
Frances (I prefer Francis for a boy)
Henrietta (our cat is Harriet)
Theodora (Our favourite boys name is Theodore)The boys names we like, to give an idea of our naming style: Theodore, Gabriel, Casper/Caspian, Francis, Wilfred, Barnaby, Frederick (hubby doesn't like though), Hubert (husband loves), Tobias, Willoughby, Balthasar, AmiasGive us some more girls name suggestions :)
We like old fashioned names that are not popular! (So no Grace, Olivia etc.)

Emmeline? Evangeline? Evadne? Josephine? Marguerite? Florence, Fleur, Bethany, Calanthe, Adeline, Calypso, Lavender, Camilla, Tanith? At the moment me and my boyfriend are searching for two girls middle names that will go with an Alexander middle name. So far we have Emmeline and maybe Jennifer.

ahhh! Yay some names.I love:
Agnes - my mother would die if I named a daughter this.. it's quite tempting ;)
Anya - I like it, but its quite short.
Edith - Love. Edie would be quite cute!
Esther - I like it, husband detests it.
Gwendolen - I'm always going back and forth over this one, I love Enid Blyton books and Gwendolen Mary was always such a pain that it put me off it. Gwen is cute though..
Jemima - So sweet. Why is this not on my list!
Mabel - also cute
Moira - LOVE this. Husband doesn't like it.. will have to force it on him more.
Philippa - love this but my cousins kid is Pippa.
Winifred - on our list :)I seriously love Jemima & Moira, they will definitely go on our 'serious' list.
