Ilove it! For me, the Harry Potter association is not a bad thing, it's made the name recognizable so people now know how to spell and pronounce it (not say hermy-own like idid when I first read the books!)I'd love to use it but I would only use it as a middle because there aren't any decent nicknames and I find ittoo long to be stand alone. My favourite combos are Eve Hermione, Alice Hermione and Juliet Hermione.

I love it. Which is why I named my baby bunny Hermione, almost two years ago now. She's pretty much always called Mio though. :)

I honestly cannot think of anything but Harry Potter.

Good Shakespeare credentials, but my impression is always that the parents were trying too hard. Herm is ... unattractive, and I don't like Ione much. Together, I'd never consider them.

Don't like it at all. I think the sound is horrible, sounds like a medical condition to me! The meaning is also unappealing to me.

I love it. I first fell in love with it in connection to British actress Hermione Norris, long before Harry Potter became a thing here, so to me it's a normal, real person name.

Oh, I love Hermione Norris! Granted, I've only seen her in Kingdom, with Stephen Fry, and a few Agatha Christie shows, I think, but still. She's fabulous.

I think it's pretty great. I'm not totally sold on the sound, but etymologically it's great and it has a flexible sort of elegance.

I know next to nothing about Harry Potter, so that won't color my views. Personally, I don't really care for it. It makes me think of a feminine form of Herman (though I know it's not), and I don't really care for Herman. I dunno, the name just doesn't sound pleasant to me, though I admit that I like how it looks. I don't really know what I'd think if I met someone named Hermione in real life; seems a bit larger-than-life for a real person. In short, I like Hermione on paper, but that's about it.

I honestly adore it, even with the Harry Potter association - Hermione Granger was my childhood hero. I'd love to meet a little Hermione, and I think Hero / Hera and Minnie all make the sweetest nicknames.
