Liouba - Eh. Looks better as Lyuba and then it still sounds too much like 'lube'. I prefer it as a nickname for Lyubov which is interestingly exotic and moody to the non-Russian ear (although stil far too heavy on the 'lube'), but I don't think any version of this name would work great outside of Russia, at least, not in any English-speaking country.
Vesper is cool. It's trying too hard. But it's cool.
Maren feels elderly, dusty and mousey. It feels like the name of someone's backwards country grandmother, a milkmaid, a pastoral throwback, or something.
Maialen - pretty.
Miriel - too close to fuddy old Muriel.
Saoirse - beautiful. I love this name.
Irem - interesting. It would make a good character name.Arlo feels greasy and creepy to me. I'm not a fan.
Jeremy isn't my type of name, but it's okay.
Julian is dorky, but that doesn't bother me. I like it a bit, but it's not a keeper for me.

Oooh Arlo IS greasy and creepy. I think that's why I like it. It's got a slick nightclub vibe. I do enjoy names with a slick nightclub vibe.

Now I'm curious what other names have a slick nightclub vibe? New thread, anyone?

Haha, I enjoy how this thread tangented :) But yes, Arlo -does- sound like a nightclub name. I would be surprised if one didn't exist already...

Love Saoirse & Julian. They are great names. Jeremy is quite nice too. The rest aren't my style.

Gotta say I like Vesper and Maren. Particularly dislike Jeremy. But not Jeremiah.

I don't really like any of them. I find Maren and Arlo interesting though. I don't like Jeremy, but Jem is a great nickname for it. You know, on second though, Maialen looks cool. Any idea how to pronounce it?

From what I understand, it's pronounced MY-uh-len

I like Jeremy. And the nickname I would use for it would be 'Jer'
Jem is'nt a known nickname of that name where I'm from. Everyone uses, jer or jerry

Liouba: I don't like it, but I'm also not sure how to pronounce it.
Vesper: This is very cool. I like it. But it works better as a boy's name.
Maren: Nice and classical-sounding, to me.
Maialen: Too much. Maia is complicated enough without adding -len to it.
Míriel: Love it.
Saoirse (SAIRshuh): I wouldn't use it, as it's not my favorite, but I do like it. It's pretty.
Irem: Sounds like a robot's name.Arlo: I like Arlo. I think I considered using it for a character once.
JeremyJem”: Jeremy has never been a favorite of mine, I think it's stupid and dull. Jem is a ridiculous, girly nickname.
Julian: I know a Julian, and he's never been my favorite person.
