Re: Copycat warning ;) Names I hate (long)
No, Angus doesn't sound like something nasty in Swedish, but it makes me think of an almost ancient guy from Scotland sitting with a nasty meerschaum pipe in his mouth, going: "Aye, lad, ye ken, 150 years ago when I was a laddie..."
I know, I'm weird. ;)Mara doesn't exactly mean nightmare, but almost. The Mara is a kind of evil spirit that rides your body during the night, causing a mardröm (a nightmare, or litterally, a Mara dream). In Norwegian it's called mareritt, "Mara's ride".
You can also call an evil woman "satmara", which litterally means "Satan's Mara".
Does the sea exist
Because of our longing?
