Oh, how I want to like Amelia. In so many ways, it fits the type of name I like. It's old, classic, it's redolent of the nineteenth century, it's long, and it ends in "ia". Perfect in every way, except that I just can't stand that "meel" sound in the middle of it. That chases out the image of a girl from a Dickens novel and brings in the image of a bowl of oatmeal.
