Re: South Asian-compatible girls' names
I like your list! The only ones I'm really not fond of are Arti (sounds like "arty", like a person who's artistic) and Nikita, which is all Russian boys' name to me. Nora's not a favorite either (I prefer it as a nickname) but there's nothing wrong with it. Ariana is pretty enough but kind of fluffy and insubstantial IMO.Asha (please use this so I can live vicariously through you!) and Rosalie would be my picks -- come to think of it, Asha Rosalie would be gorgeous! Rosalie Indira and Asha Naomi are both beautiful. Rosalie Lalita is too L-heavy and I hate Anita, sorry. The only Asha combo you have that I really don't like is Asha Korinna. Korinna looks tryndee to me even though I know it's Greek. I LOVE Talia Jaswinder too, though I could normally take or leave Talia. It's such a pretty, striking combo! My one concern with Asha is that English-speakers would pronounce it ASH-ah, like the word ash and the beginning of Ashley. I don't much care for that pronunciation.Other suggestions (apologies if some of these would be a disaster; my knowledge of South Asian languages is not great):
Maya
Lucia
Marina
Emma
Lara
Dara
Mara
Zara
Elena
Eliana
Sarah
Leah
Alice
Hana (HAH-nah; possible pronunciation issues here too but I love it so much)
Avani
Divya
Mina (bonus points for use in both India and various English-speaking countries?)
Mira (ditto)
Tara (ditto)
Anna / Hannah
Clara
Petra
Dalia
VictoriaSome Asha combos:
Asha Margaret
Asha Lillian
Asha Miriam
Asha Madeline
Asha Violet
Asha Camille
Asha Caroline
Asha Rosemary
Asha Katherine
Asha Vivian
