Re: Thoughts on short list of boy names?
I actually know a Knut and an Emmerich, so I vote "go" for those. Though, Emmerich is way better. Knut is a bit hipster. Carsten - works but a mite trendy methinks. I still like it but prefer the similar Crobin or Carsen, but not by much. Korbinian - seems to go on a little too long. I would just go with Korby and call it a day since that is likely what people would call him. That said - its a gutsy choice. Thiemo - no opinion. Can't picture it in reality. I would need some time to mull it over. Egon - Works. Only because it has a slight science-fictiony feel to it (imo). I don't love it, but I would respect it. Emmerich - classy. Kayetan - almost looks Kre8tive. I prefer the Italian Gaetano or French Gaetan. I know a Gaetano so I know that works. Kasimir - heard it before. I like it. A bit cashmir-ish, but that is a lovely material. Lanzo - good name. I love Laszlo, and this is like a marriage of that and Lando... I like it. Marzell - totally usable. I would do it. I love Marcel and the z gives it an extra cool factor. Torben - works. Double checked to make sure it wasn't unisex since I know a female Toben. I like it though. Waldemar - say it in the German accent... and it's a bit like announcing a magician. Waldemar ze great und powerful! Just saying. Cool alternative to Waldo though. Knut - Works, heard it, a bit hipster... not my style, but ok. Rainer - I actually might know one of these too (I work for an Austrian company and used to live in Berlin, DE). I like it. I think it works and it has more class than Rain (and I like Rain, in theory).
