Re: Thoughts on short list of boy names?
Carsten - At my husband's high school the students had to write a letter to their future selves and it was given back to them at the 10-year reunion. So Bernie got his back 5 years ago, when we were pregnant with our first. Among other things, he had written "my first son will be named Carsten / Karsten". Sadly for him, I hate it so much. Which is kind of weird, because I actually really like Carson and Carter. But the -sten ending has always been so so whiny to my ears. Kirsten is probably the most whiniest name of all time in my books!
Korbinian - a word to describe something or someone from Korb or Korbin. :) But but Korbin / Corbin / Korban / Corban I can handle.
Thiemo - Not sure I love all the 'extra' letters, but Timo is awesome.
Egon - really don't like the look of it
Emmerich - Yes. Awesome! I prefer Emeric, but Emmerich is very handsome too.
Kayetan - Wow, very cool. Out there - which is a plus for me. I like it.
Kasimir - I dont actually like it, but it is gutsy enough that I'd appreciate it!
Lanzo - Very fun, but it feels like a nickname to me. I'd totally combo it up to get that nickname: Landon Zachary, Langdon Zeev, Lanford Zander. One could even 'get away' with it for a name that ends in -lan, of which there are many. But I get that Lanzo is also a name in its own rite.
Marzell - cool. It would need to be the right personality to be okay correcting everybody all the time, but cool name.
Torben - Again, close to common names, so it's bound to get mixed up a lot, but a great name.
Waldemar - lol, I know a few of those at my church. NOt for me.
Knut - sounds like something you playfully call a baby
Rainer - lamer than Rain.Three boys nappin', one mama namenerdin'
