Re: Dovlin? Dovelyn?
Honestly, I much prefer Delilah over both of these; Delilah is one of my favorite names, and my first thought of it is "Hey There Delilah" -- not the biblial character (though I'm not Christian, so...)That said debtween Dovlin and Dovelyn, I think I prefer Dovelyn since it looks more feminine and it reminds me of "Dove" and "Evelyn"; that said, however... kids will find a way to make fun of someone's name, no matter what.

I thought of the song, too. I went to church as a kid, and I do remember the story, but don't feel like it's one that they talk about as much as Noah, Abraham and Isaac, Adam and Eve, and Jesus's birth, miracles, death and resurrection. You could use Lilah as a nn. Since -lyn has been fairly common for girls, Dovelyn would fit in better than Dovlin. There's an actress named Dov Cameron on one of Disney's new shows, so if you wanted to split it and go Dove Lynn like someone suggested, that would be fine, too.
