I'm just surprised that anyone could think that. No, Genevieve most certainly is not a stripper name. It's a very pretty, respectable name. I personally prefer Guinevere, but that's just me. There isn't anything wrong with Genevieve. If you want the French pronunciation, it may help if you spell it the French way: Geneviève. I think if you correct people, they'll get that it's the pronunciation you want. Best wishes.
