1) Yes. I actually find it a little weird to use the name of a month when the child is born in that month. So a May born in September is less weird to me than a May born in May.
2) Do you find all of the following seasons and months usable names at all?
I think Autumn and Summer are perfectly usable, although a bit dated and insubstantial.
I'd consider January (for a boy), April (similar feelings to Autumn and Summer), May, June, and August all usable as names.
3) Yes, that is kind of cool.
I wouldn't really consider Avril "inspired" by April, it's just April in French.
