I like Tanith and Sibeal. Marja is kind of nice, and I like Echo in a GP sort of way.None of the boys' names are to my taste, but Arrigo is interesting.

Echo - I like it. It's sorta...rebellious mythological maiden. Like Dido, Juno and Hero.
Jinan - I'm not crazy about it, but it's pretty. I prefer Janan.
Lilica - really nice. It makes me think of tiny flowers.
Raquel - I freaking adore Raquel. I was playing around with versions of Rachel and decided I like this one the best. Rahel is cool too, but just a bit too "out there".
Marja "MAR-yuh" - Oh, I was all excited about it being pronounced with a hard j - MAR-jah. I really like that, so quirky and warm.
Tanith - I knew a Tanith once. She was a very intense young girl who wore strange hats. I wanted to like her, but she was also really combative, and made liking her tough. I still enjoy the name though. I once saw this amazing 60's Hammer horror film called "The Devil Rides Out" where there was a character named Tanith, played by a French actress named Niké. I was in heaven.
Nadine - flat-footed and harsh and yet somehow warm and likable. It's a brassy-waitress sort of name
Solene "so-LEHN" - Neato
Rosy - adorable
Sibeal "shi-BALE" - hmmmmmm I really get a "soupy" vibe from this and I'm not sure ho I feel about that
Glenna - retro fun
Gordon - I was thinking about this the other day as well. I like how round the name is. Gordie is also supercute
Swithin - haha fantastic and weird
Isley (or Eisley- whatever lends itself to "EYES-lee" pronunciation) - Isley would be "eye-lee" to me, and Eisley the other pronunciation. It's cool, a little lacking in personality for me

I've really warmed to Raquel lately- I think it could fit sooo any different people. And the idea of it organically becoming "Rocky" is kind of adorable. You hit Nadine and Parrish right on the head. The mouth-feel.... That is exactly why I can't get myself to trade Parrish out for Paris.... Something about it just isn't as satisfyingGladden - not sure how to feel about it. I can see it working I'm just not sure I want it to
Murrain - I'm very intrigued. Where'd you pick this one up?
Spring - meh. I've seen it in real life but it doesn't make it any more usable to me
Idony - I have the same problem, grasping at pronunciation. I always say like "Eden-ee" sort of, but I'm sure that's all kinda of wrong. I read somewhere once that is meant "to renew nature" (which I LOVED). Not sure of the truth in that but I suppose it does make sense when you consider the meaning of Idun
Jadis - I like it but can only think of the evil witch in The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe. Where did you find your info on it?
Esme - awkward and little too "try hard posh"
Tansy - adorable! Wish I could take it more seriously
Dee - like as a nickname. I like Deedee too, particularly for DeirdreReginald - I just can't see this on a real person under the age of like, 80. Reggie is adorbs but.... How do I get there without going through Reginald?
Archibald - see Reginald
Zeke - very "farmhand" but maybe that's just due to The Wizard of Oz. It's ok. I think it works ok on its own and know a few families who have used it as so.

I found Murrain while browsing Wikipedia articles on curses. It's an archaic word meaning "death" and was applied as a broad term for plagues afflicting crops and cattle that were thought to have otherworldly origins. Maybe not a good name for a real person, but I think it has a fun sort of malevolence to it.The Jadis info was from wikipedia too, from an entry on The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe :)

Maeve - gorgeous. Kind of did a 180 on this one on the past year or so
Tamsin - neat but I would hate for it to get shortened to Tammy *shudder*
Luna - feels more like a pet or sci-fi novel name
Mai - nonobvious pronunciation issues
Linnet - I like the reference and the image I get but I prefer the sound of Lynette
Skye - seems too insubstantial. Nice middle nameIshmael - "call me Ishmael!" Nuff said
Conrad - I have a hard time picturing it on anyone not at least 40 years old, and in an 19th century suit and top hat
Corvid - sounds a bit like a medication or something but it's nice. I've contemplated Corvin, before
Mihai - nice
Jasper - meh. It's ok. I don't mind it's use it just doesn't excite me at all
Avery - NICE! I'd like to see this used on boys still

I like Solene and Rosy. Not a top 10, but recently I've been thinking about:Jenny / Jennie (should this be a nickname for Jennifer or can it stand on its own?)
Martha
Julia
Leonor
Gloria
Kezia
EstherAaron
Kit as a nn for Christopher
Michael
Micah

Jenny / Jennie - I like it on it's own, actually. I'm not normally in favor of obvious nicknames as full first names but, I really don't like Jennifer. Jenny at least has a sort of retro vibe going on.... Sort of like Millie or something- where they are clearly nicknames but they have been previously used in full so much that they kind of occupy their own space separate from their origin.
Martha - it's ok. I vastly prefer Marta
Julia - pretty. Classic. Kinda boring
Leonor - I prefer spelled Lenore. It feels more to the point and complete
Gloria - love it. One of those ones I can't really see myself using but that I wish more people did
Kezia - it certainly looks cool. Not really that keen on the "keh-ZI-ah" pronunciation though.
Esther - I likeAaron - handsome and timeless
Kit - I LOVE Kit! If I were forced to use Christopher I would most definitely use either Kit or Kester as a short form
Michael - BORING. Even more boring than John, IMHO.
Micah - seems like it should be more popular than it really is. It's handsome

I love Kit, Michael and Micah. Ester and Gloria and Martha sound super old-lady to me. Kezia is my name xD
vote up1
How do you pronounce Kezia? :) I've heard it several different ways!
vote up1
I went to school with a Kezia! She said it "KAY-zee-ah".
vote up1
Like keh-ZEE-ah.
A lot of people say it KEH-zee-uh with the stress on the first syllable and the 'ah' kind of turning into an 'uh' sound if they've just read my name off something. I mostly use Kizzy :)
vote up1
I like "KEH-zee-uh" but realize that that's not necessarily "correct" :)
vote up1
I think there probably isn't one single correct way. It probably has a lot to do with your accent and what languages you speak. Obviously I pronounce it how my parents pronunce it ;)
KEH-zee-uh doesn't make my crazy or anything. It's just not how we say it.
