I found Murrain while browsing Wikipedia articles on curses. It's an archaic word meaning "death" and was applied as a broad term for plagues afflicting crops and cattle that were thought to have otherworldly origins. Maybe not a good name for a real person, but I think it has a fun sort of malevolence to it.The Jadis info was from wikipedia too, from an entry on The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe :)
