Joanna -- too boring?
I've been pining for Joanna lately, but I wonder if it's too bland. Does anyone find it lackluster? I think it's beautiful, though I'm unable to articulate why. Here are some combinations that I admire:Joanna Beatrice / Beatrix
Joanna Celandine
Joanna Celestine
Joanna Cicely
Joanna Constance
Joanna Larkspur
Joanna Leontine
Joanna Margery
Joanna Melisande
Joanna Millicent
Joanna Rosamond / Rosamund

10 or 20 years ago I might have thought so (I was at school with a lot of them) but these days I think it feels quite fresh and perhaps ready for a comeback soon. It's growing on me.Of your combos I like Joanna Beatrice, Joanna Beatrix and Joanna Cicely.

noNot boring. It's just not fashiony. Seems like Bridget or Nina, strong and modest and feminine. I like it - seems like it could be a queen or a taxi driver, an old woman or a toddler, etc., not "wrong" on anybody.I like Joanna Constance and Joanna Millicent.

Joanna is pretty, I think. It isn't bland at all; a name isn't bland just because it's not unusual.

I think it's a lovely name; beautiful and understated. My friend Caroline who loves names chose Joanna for one of her daughters. Of your combos, I would choose Joanna Beatrix.
