There's some Chinese people around here with the last name Lui, more than one family. I wonder if Lui is ever used as a first name in Chinese?
Lui is also French for something like "him" isn't it?
Then again, it could be a terrible kre8yv spelling of Louie.

That was my first thought on seeing "lui",that it was the French word.
"What's your name?"
"Lui".
"???"
