Alyssa Milano's new daughter
Alyssa Milano gave birth to a baby girl today. The baby's name?Elizabella Dylan. The mashing of Eliza + bella is...well, interesting. Incredibly frilly of a name. Dylan on girls is not horrible, but still doesn't fit IMO.Milano's other child with her husband is a boy, Milo Thomas. Actually a pretty nice combination.ETA: Both Milo and Elizabella will use their father David Bugliari's last name.Source: https://celebrity.yahoo.com/blogs/celeb-news/alyssa-milano-gives-birth-to-a-baby-girl-202146528.html

I've known another Elizabella. I find it over-the-top in the extreme. Like a weeding cake with too much frosting.

I was quite surprised by the name actually. I think Eliza and Bella are both nice names, just not bunched together as one name. Dylan on a girl is horrible imo, I hate it actually.

Ugly.

I guess it's not horrible, but Elizabella is super frilly and sounds like something a 5 year old girl would ask to be called. I do love Eliza. Eliza and Milo would have been better.

I remember me and my friend decided on Elizabella for the name of the child of two characters in a story we were writing together. I like it, although it does sound made-up. Dylan is cute, and it fits.

Elizabella is too frilly for my taste. On the other hand, I like Isabetta, which is more or less the other way around when it comes to mixing Elizabeth and Isabella...
Dylan on a girl, naah. Plus, it sounds horrible in combination with the super-frilly Elizabella. Like naming someone Chrystabella Mug or Laurelannah Barf.

I consider Elizabella somewhat legitimate (m)...... because Elisabel is the origin of Isabel and all the names/spellings Isabel has spawned. You still find Elisabel (and in a much lesser number, Elizabel) in Spain, albeit rarely, as the more streamlined form Isabel overtook it quite a few generations ago.Having said that, I don't like Elizabella that much, but I don't consider it a combination of Eliza + Bella, rather I see it as a longer form of Elisabel (just as Isabella is a longer form of Isabel).NB: I do quite like Elisabel though.

Elisabel & Elizabel are amazingly pretty, and look much more legit. I like that quite a lot! It's amazing hat subtracting just a couple letters or a syllable can do to change the feel of a name.

I agree, there are several names I am not keen on, but change a few letters and it's totally different.I'm not a huge fan of Georgia, for example, but I love Georgina!

I would have preferred Dylan as a first name over Elizabella. EEK.Milo Thomas is nice. Milo and Elizabella...they will probably call the girl Ella or something, but still . Another case of a boy getting a usable name, and the girl getting a super frilly one. Ugh.

QuestionHow is Elizabella generally pronounced?
Like Eliza + Bella? Or like an Elizabeth that happens to end in -bella instead of -beth?

More like the Elizabeth + Bella. El + Izabella.

There isn't a general pronunciation because this is a very rare name. I've never seen it used before. I'm guessing it's pronounced like Elizabeth with -bella instead of -beth, but I really don't know.

Elizabella: I agree, very frilly but hey, at least its a females name. Eliza or elizabeth or other would have been fine
Dylan: males name. She should of at least spelled it as Dillan is she needed to use the nameMilo thomas flows (prefer miles thomas) but milo with the surname is odd
Milo milano. Take away the the A and N and its the same name as milo

How is Dillan better? It went from being a male name to being a male name she would have to spell out all the time.

How does spelling it Dillan make it better?

The kids' last name is Bugliari.Alyssa's kept her last name for professional reasons, I'd assume. But her kids use their father's last name.

I like Elizabella. It's witchy and weird and sort of nonsensically Medieval sounding. Dylan is blah. Milo Thomas is ok, very respectable. I wonder if the Thomas & Dylan middle names were picked for Dylan Thomas, or if it's just a coincidence?

Milo Thomas is so handsome. Not exciting, but nice. Elizabella is dumb. Elizabeth and Isabella are different forms of the same name, there's no reason to combine them.Something about the flow seems weird to me too, but I can't figure out why. Something about the bella-dyl is bugging me.

Dang. What's wrong with Isabella or even Elisabetta? It's just as long as Elizabella and makes so much more sense. Even EliSabella would have been a better complement with the Italian surname.I agree with you that Milo Thomas is nice. Elizabella doesn't compare, sadly.

It's a tongue-tangler for sure. Overly cutesy, and reminds me of a character in a book by Laurie Notaro who was named Melissabeth.Milo Thomas is okay, though it sounds an awful lot like Marlo Thomas.

I expected better after Milo Thomas.Aw. I'm disappointed.
