The name Desta.
Desta is a unisex name, that means "joy". Opinions?
Would you prefer it on a girl or boy, or both?

Desta sounds nice for a girl. I really like Deston for a boy but, as I don't believe in destiny, I'll never use it.

Desta is a super cute name. I really like it for a girl. There are very few boys' names that end in A that I actually like. In fact, the only one coming to mind is Asa. It's not unheard of though.Desta is pretty awesome though. It means Joy, which is lovely. It also looks like a great variation for Destiny. Destiny has a cool meaning, but I've never really liked the name. I'd totally use Desta instead.

I think it's beautiful and also cute for a girl. It's warm and welcoming but not overly twee. It's like a softer Vesta or more exotic Esther. Yes. It is good. Not keen on it for a boy since it has a very strong "mothering" sort of image for me.

I can see the mothering vibe. I guess the Des is very masculine to me. I quite like boys names that end in a (like Arda, Aruna, Hosea, Ira, Chanda Judah, Luca, etc), just because they are not common. This seems truly unisex to me... but I guess I lean towards boy still.

I quite like it.
When I saw it, I instantly thought "girl", but I think it could work for a boy as well.

Desta I feel should be better on a girl.

I thought it was a fill in the blank. A bad spelling of Destanation? Destany? I'd probably pick girl. I can't quite love the -a ending on boys.
