Top 10 girls' names (alphabetically)
Aminah (prefer the spelling Amina, not sure if that makes it a different name)
Frances (I think Frances "Frankie" is adorable)
Josephine
Lina (very simple and minimalist but pretty. Much fresher and less frilly than Lia, probably less common too? Maybe?)
Miriam
Marwa (I love this kind of Arabic name. I think it translates between languages/cultures without losing its ethnic link, it's unusual and, if I'm saying it right, pretty)
Najwa (Ditto to what I said about Marwa. I think Najwa is so cool looking)
Rayhana (runs the risk of being confused with Rihana, though, which could be a plus or minus depending on your feelings)
Sumayya (Very pretty)
Zaynab

I think Ruqayya is really interesting looking and has an interesting meaning, but it's probably a bit -too- interesting for some people and I must admit I have no idea how to say it!

10 Least favourite girls' names:
Deborah (I have a relative who goes by Deborah/Debbie as a 'translation' of her name, and as lovely as she is, I think this name is very dated and unattractive)
Deniz (too much like Denis)
Fatima (very popular, I know, and very significant, but that 'fat' bit just throws me every time)
Jennifer (I have no idea why I dislike this name, but I do)
Joan (mooing, lowing, bloated sound. Sad, because it feels like it could be retro-glam, but it isn't, at least, to me)

I don't like at all

4. Tewodros - 1.-4. just have a very strange spelling
5. Rayanne - looks made up

7. Donald - thinking of Donald Duck...
8. Desmond - like a rich and inapproachable man's son... and not a little boy's name
9. Issa - this one just looks weird, and doesn't really sound masculine
10. Asher - reminds me of "ashes"
