Re: WDYTO these Mayflower names?
Resolved and Love were boys. The father of Love also had a daughter called Fear and a son called Wrestling! Maybe some wrestling fans will revive it :)Constance is nice, Peregrine is handsome and I've got a soft spot for Digory because of The Magician's Nephew. Remember/Remembrance seem pretty odd in a modern context - what exactly is being remembered? Could be anything. If it was to remember a loved one, it would make much more sense to just give them the person's name.

Sorry I guess I just assumed, forgot I was going to look into their genders.I guess there was a female named Humility on the Mayflower who ended up going back to England.Wrestling and Fear are very unusual names. Fear as a daughters name is especially unusual for those days I would think. Humility, Constance, and Remember at least seem like more appropriate choices for a puritan girl.

If you're talking about Love, Fear, and Wrestling Brewster, they're my distant aunt and uncles. All of the unusual names had some sort of religious meaning. I've seen lists of Puritan names that had Fear-me-not-for-I-am-the-Lord or Wrestling-with-the-devil. I've also seen Love's name as Truelove, not just Love.
