Hmm, Duncan is deliciously nerdy. I never really thought of it as a first name (it's always been a last name for me) but if I were to use it, I'd probably use it as a first name since like you said, it's so unapologetic and seems like a disservice to throw it in the middle name spot.For some reason I want to give Duncan's sister's hideous first names, even though I don't find Duncan that unappealing. How about:
