I would not be as honest with a friend in real life as I would here. I would not lie, though, and say I liked a name when I didn't. I'd just mention only the things that I thought were positive or neutral about it. If I thought I heard a friend say she was naming her daughter Cookie, I'd say "Oh? that's cute" very neutrally. Because cute is all it is... lol
