I don't like "cookie" as a legit name. I have nothing against it, just have a hard time taking it seriously
I have an Aunt named Cookie but ONLY as a nickname and another aunt named Penny (again only as a nickname and no her real name isn't Penelope or any variant close to it)
They received their nicknames during childhood because I guess while kids they were inseparable and from what my mom told me, everyone had this saying "you get a cookie for a penny." (: thus creating their long lasting nicknames. Their real names are like Mary & Sherie I think.
Cookie is alright but only as long as it's a nickname.
