thoughts on our girls' names?
DC2 due in three weeks, we don't know the gender. We have three main names if baby's a girl, but several middle name combos, so I'd really appreciate some help narrowing them down! To go with brother Frederick Benjamin (Freddie).Alice Penelope
Alice Caoimhe
Annabella Beatrice (think this 'flows' better than Annabelle Beatrice)
Annabelle Catherine
Annabelle Charlotte
Annabelle Cecily/ Cecilia (I prefer Cecily, DH prefers Cecilia)
Annabelle Xanthe
Cecily Beatrice
Penelope Alice
Penelope Beatrice

Well, Penelope is our top girl choice, so that will definitely have an impact on my opinion here! But I do also think that it sounds great with Frederick "Freddie".Alice Penelope - VERY pretty, has an awfully 'proper' sound to it but I like that
Alice Caoimhe - love it, love both names
Annabella Beatrice - I don't like Annabella, it's too fussy for me. I think Annabelle Beatrice has a fine flow and would sound much better
Annabelle Catherine - nice, a little bland compared to some of your other choices
Annabelle Charlotte - same as Annabelle Catherine
Annabelle Cecily/ Cecilia - a little more spunky than the 2 above, but I am not a fan of the 'Cec-' sound at the start of these names, so this one is almost at the bottom of the list for me
Annabelle Xanthe - OMG! LOVE Xanthe. Beautiful name
Cecily Beatrice - bottom of the list for me. I like Beatrice, but not enough to make up for having Cecily before it!
Penelope Alice - lovely. Interestingly, I think Alice Penelope flows better - although I would pretty much always choose Penelope myself for a first name

Alice Penelope, Annabella Beatrice and Annabelle Charlotte are all really nice. I would actually prefer Alice Catherine though personally.

Alice Penelope is wonderful, and so are Cecily Beatrice and Penelope Beatrice, though I would like to see Beatrice Penelope as well.Do you think Annabella would ever be used in full? I rather doubt it. So, you'll need to think about all possible nns. Freddie and Annie? Much better than Freddie and Bella.

Alice Penelope is adorable!

Cecily Caoimhe
Cecily CharlotteCecily is the only first name I really like, and I don't really like it with Beatrice because of some oddly repeated sounds. Penelope Alice would be my second choice.

Alice Penelope, Annabelle Catherine, and Cecily Beatrice are my top 3.You said you didn't know the baby's gender? I hope you got names picked out for a boy.

My cousin is Annabelle Catherine! One of her sisters is called Beatrice (there are 5 of them altogether- Emily Victoria, Beatrice Alexandra, Felicity Elizabeth, Annabelle Catherine and Verity Anne), and our other cousin is Charlotte (her twins middle name is Frederick! He would have been a Frederick Jr if my Uncle had his way, but my Aunt wasn't having a bar of it so he's a James Fredrick instead) and my other cousin is Frederick Neil "Freddie"! (His brother is George Sven) Neat.I think Alice and Cecily are perfect with Freddie. I also think Annabelle nn Annie and Penelope nn Penny would fit perfectly with Frederick nn Freddie. So really, I think can't go wrong. My combo picks in order of preference:Alice Caoimhe (loooove me some Caoimhe, and it sounds great with Alice)
Annabelle Cecily (spunky, but Cecilia pushes it into OTT sickly sweet frilly territory IMO)
Cecily Beatrice (not my favorite combo but I love Cecily so much I'm letting it slide.

What does DC2 mean?I wouldn't pair Annabelle with Frederick necessarily. Plus I don't like Annabelle, so let's go to the other three.Of Alice, Penelope, and Cecily, I would choose Penelope. So my first choice is Penelope Alice. Penelope Beatrice does not flow well. Freddie and Penny would be pretty sweet. My second choice would be Cecily. Nothing wrong with Cecily Beatrice. Do you plan to have more kids? If I were going to have a third, and were using this combo, I'd consider whether there were other B names I liked to use for a middle, and keep the theme going. Not a deal-breaker, but a thought.Alice is okay. My favourite of yours would be Alice Penelope. Mostly just because Alice Caoimhe blends together: Aliskeeva. :)Still dislike Annabelle, but the best of your combos there is probably Annabelle Charlotte or Annabelle Xanthe. None of those ones sound great together to me, though, sorry.

I like Annabelle Catherine, Annabelle Charlotte, Alice Penelope and Penelope Alice in that order. You have a lot of great names from which to choose! Might I ask what you have picked out if it's a boy?BTW, I'm diggin' Frederick Benjamin.

Tobias Charles (Toby) is our most likely contender for a boy. Charles is after a family member.

Love it!

I like Frederick and Tobias together. It's slightly quirky and unexpected. If you had a third child, a girl, it would work nicely with Penelope. ;-)

Alice PenelopeSince I really detest this name, I'd cross out the Annabelle combos. I think it's much too sticky and sweet next to the classy Frederick Benjamin. The same applies to Penelope. However, I'd be OK with them as middle names. This does not apply to Caoimhe, which is just too weird due to its tough spelling. This one is just too alien next to Benjamin.Which leaves me with Alice Penelope and Cecily Beatrice. However, Alice Penelope flows the best and Alice matches Frederick perfectly!

Out of all of these, I like Penelope Alice the best. Alice as a first name is predictable so I think it does so much better in the middle name slot. Annabelle is too cutesty/trying too hard for my tastes. Cecily Beatrice isn't bad, but Cecily is nms. Penelope Beatrice is nice as well, but it's a tad too clunky. I prefer Penelope Alice.
