Re: Nameberry's 14 Vintage Baby Girl Names Waiting To Be Discovered
in reply to a message by Elena
I can't see Flossie, Polly or Tillie zooming into the charts - they seem so very obviously nns, and Florence and Matilda are rising sedately in popularity already.Etta ... there are also more Henrietta girls than usual at present. So there could be an opening. Ione, Odessa and Opal ... I've heard of people being named Opal, but never where I live. Odessa is all geography, and Ione has pronunciation issues.Lelia? Not Leila? Unfamiliar to me, if correct.I knew a Petrina once, and find it nicer than stony Petra and easier to say.All in all, I think Nameberry are being their usual silly selves.
