I agree that Millie would feel too much like a nick name for me to love as a given name. I get that Amelia is too close to Amy, but what about Matilda or Camilla or Camille nn Millie? I'm English so Millie as a given name is in the top 100 names. My aunts cat is called is called Matilda so that's out. Camille/Camilla he won't use as there's a member of the English royal family called Camilla.
