Re: FINAL Names
Yes a lot of nns as first names are very popular in the UK. I'v heard a lot of people say they think Amy & Milly are too close but I don't really understand how ? Amy - Ay-Mee & Millie - Mill-Lee. I like Lily but I can't see myself using Lily as that is very popular in the UK also. - I love Lilian but my boyfriend doesn't like it. - plus I'm not keen on using Lily as a first name with Rose as a mn. Tillie I can't use that reminds me of my aunts cat also called Tillie. - Gilly/Jilly - he wouldn't go for as it's too close to his bosses name Ginny. - I kinda like Dillie but not sure what would be a name to get Dillie as a nn. Only thing is Lavender which is my Nan's fave flower but I can't see myself using it. - this is the trouble going back in my family most of them have no middle names and all the last names are stuff that can't be used like Self, Hunt, Clark etc. -

AYM-ee MILL-eeI personally prefer Millie to Emily. Also as I said Amy and Millie would be too similar for me to use but I know they aren't that similar. I just would like my childrens names to be very distinct from each others in sound and spelling. In spelling Amy and Millie are not too similar but in sound they are too similar for my tastes. But I think you should go for Millie since it is honoring and you both like it.Lark or Clara could be honoring for Clark. Dillie could be a nn for Dilys, Dilwen, Daffodil, and Dillon / Dylan. I doubt any of those are both your style and your boyfriends. You could also try something like Diana-Emily nn Dilly / Dillie. Also I love Lavender but it would be too much with Rose as a mn.My mom's favorite flowers are Bougainvillea, Lobelia, Geranium, and Petunia. She also likes Lavender. I would consider Lobelia or Lavender for a mn for one of my future children but never the others.

I pronounce them slightly different to you Ay-MEE & Mill-LEE.Amy hardly ever gets called Amy she normally get's called Amy-Lou or Amy Lou-Lou (her choice). - I love those names as my family are originally from Wales. I doubt my boyfriend would go for them though too out there for him (except Dylan but I refuse to use it as people have used it on girls). - I like Diana-Emily. - I can hear my boyfriends reply I'm not using that she would be named after princess Diana :/. Also like it cause my Aunts MN is Dianne which I'd love to use but then her sister would get Jealous I haven't used her name so I can't use it.I know that's what I was thinking about Lavender & Rose. I think we will wait and see if we think Emily or Millie is better when the baby is born (If its a girl obviously).
