8 Children - What would yours be?
Just because I'm bored and I don't think we've done this in a while...If you had to have 8 children (gender and order is your choice), and knew you had to have 8. What would you call them?I'll post mine shortly:)~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

I love Emerson, Lachlan, Romilly Fern & Kezia June (much prefer the Keziah spelling though). But I do kinda miss Mattea! ;)
vote up1
:) Mattea is not gone. Just a little hiatus to consider Romilly and Timea. A good friend of mine named Timothy died this spring, and the idea of honouring him with Timea is just pretty special to me. So many of the same sounds and great things of Mattea but with the added honouring factor.

Niko Benjamin is gorgeousI also love Lachlan Grey, very handsomeI really like Plum as a middle name, but unsure how I feel about TimeaRomilly Fern is lovely. Fern is great and unexpected

I know most people here love August and Theodore. I really like Georgiana, I just slightly prefer Georgina. Love the nickname Georgie I also like Anneliese, Mathilde and Emilia Lucille nn Emmy

August Theodore is dashingly nerdy. I love it.Jude Benjamin is quite handsome - albeit a bit Old Testament-y.Thackeray? Tell me more!!
vote up1
Thackeray is a user submitted name: http://www.behindthename.com/submit/name/thackerayI think I first saw it in the games board a long time ago, listed along with word names and GPs and such. I've never thought about it until I recently rediscovered it. I love it! I think it's dashing.

It intrigues me because I really love Rafferty and Calloway and it kind of fits in with those for me. But I'm not sure if it sounds like a lisp-y version of Zachary or not. Hmm.
vote up1
That's exactly what I thought. That's the only thing that makes me hesitant to use it, but I would as a middle name without hesitation. Oh, I really like Calloway and especially Rafferty!

Jasper Nathaniel is great!
For all your love of Abner, I didn't expect him to be nearer the bottom. ;o)

The birth order isn't so much a correlation with how much a certain name is shining for me above the others, but an arrangement of colors and shapes that I find the most pleasing.

An "ahh" of understanding mixed with an "uhh you're crazy".

Your Xanthe Opal Esther is like my Patience Daffodil - The combo we never change :)I really like the flow of Xanthe Opal Esther. I'm not too keen on Opal, but I really like Xanthe and EstherAvielle and Reverie are not my style, but I like CarysSylvie Rowan Delphine is gorgeousI really like Aderyn, Zuri is nice just not my style, not really a fan of AlaiaGeneva Ruby Iselin is cute. I especially like IselinAugust and Felix are too of my least favourite boys names. They're just not for me. I like Matthias though a lotSonnet Elodie Maeve is not my style, but it is adorableI like Griffin and OscarYour combos are a bit more 'out there' than my tastes but some great names here and they make a very interesting sibset :)
vote up1
Haha yep, XOE is my perfect girls name in every signle way. I'm guessing you feel the same about PD :)Opal and Esther are after each of my grandmothers. Plus Opal is the national gemstone of Australia so I like that connection, plus it's my favourite. Plus I looked after two little girls for 3 years named Ella and Olivia and I like that the middle initials remind me of them (not named after them but a nice association for me). Plus long boring story about a particular opal in my family that adds to it. So all around loaded with meaning there.Zuri also has really important significance which I prefer not to spell out here, but it's there for a good reason :)
Alaia is there because I'm in love with the meaning (Joyful). I also have it on my fn list.I go back and forth between that and Geneva Ruth Iselin. Ruby honours my mum. Ruth honours the same grandmother that Opal does (and inadvertently one of my two sisters.) I like the posible occasional nn Evie Rue (for Geneva Ruby/Ruth).Iselin I found on a coke bottle! When I was in Norway in August they were doing the "Share a Coke with...." promotion with popular Norwegian names (also in Finland with Finnish names and Sweden with Swedish etc! Drank a lot of coke on my summer travels ;) ) and Iselin was one of them. Had never heard it before but fell in love. Love that it reminds me of Norway (which I fell head over heels for and wanted to move to). Would have it on my first name list if it wasn't so similar to the Isabella names, and I'm not fond of the nn Issy.
