Re: Names for an Empress
Depends on the empress, and the empire.A long-standing empire will have naming expectations of its royalty, which is why British royals can choose an appropriate name when they become king (Albert -> George) or queen (Alexandrina -> Victoria, her mn).A regime change would introduce its own naming system and expectations. When Cinderella married the Prince, did she revert to Ella, stay Cinderella just because she could, or go megatrad Marie-Eugenie-Claudine-Louise?I'd rather fancy something like Emperor George Victor Charles Claudius Malcolm and Empress Tracey-Jo.

I do understand how and why monarchs throughout history choose the moniker that they are know by today. I was looking more for a fantasy character name, but thank you for your suggestion.

Your fantasy characters; names, like the names of real people, will arise from their society, history and surroundings. Which only you know, at this time. So, you'll have to do it yourself. It's hard work, creating an entire society, but it's the only way to be convincing.
